CR-1 Visa Question

We just completed the Visa Interview for my wife on July 1st. We are still waiting to receive the visa. I am living and working here in the PI, but my job here is coming to an end. We will be moving back to the U.S. late this year. My question is this. I have to travel back to the U.S. for work in August. Can my wife go with me on her CR-1 visa? I will be beginning some house hunting during the trip, and of course I would like her to help out since it will be her house too. Is it all right for her to go there on her CR-1 visa before we actually move there? Thanks for any help.

She can travel to the US with her CR-1. When she gets there she will have to wait about a month to get her green card in the mail. SS card also.

With the 2 year GC she can come and go as she pleases as long as she doesn't leave more than 6 months. More than 6 months she should get a I-131 rentry permit!

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

Thanks for the information. I have a follow-up question. Can she leave the country without the green card and SS card(we can FedEx it to us)? Or does she need it to leave the country?

SS card doesn't come into play traveling.

She could leave the US without the GC but not return without it.

She would be taking a HUGE chance having someone Fed Ex the GC.

First off there is no guarantee she will get it in the mail within a month.

Best not to take any chances and just wait until she has GC in hand.

Thanks again. You have been very helpful. I am just trying to get an idea of our options.

well the big thing is do you have residence in the usa where all paper work will be sent to. or have you been doing all the work from the where you are. you will need an address where you will be living so green and ss card can be recieved also at the poe they will want to know where you will be living.

Thanks. We have been doing all of the paperwork here in the PI. I do have an address in the U.S. where the green card, and ss card can be sent. I was trying to get an idea if she could travel with me before we actually move . Once a year I have to go back to U.S. for some required company stuff, and I was hoping to bring her along this year and combine it with some house hunting.
