Evidence for Interview Day

I've been reading about all the things that folks bring to the consulate as evidence of the relationship, but I've not run into a discussion of financial support evidence.

From your experience or from what you know, will the consulate officer consider financial support for one's spouse as a part of the relationship? For example, I have records of all the money that I've sent my wife over the years. Should my wife turn this into the CO on the day of the interview? --Will it help our cause?

If nothing else it provides proof that you have been in contact with you Spouse IMHO. I doubt they would consider it proof of a bona fide relationship though. Who knows with this bunch.

The financial support you have given to your wife should be included in your proof of relationship. The Consulate does consider this as evidence of your relationship. While we filed a K1 visa, I showed in both in my I-129f and the evidence Thi took the interview, the receipts of me sending her money and what it was for. They didn't ask her about that nor did they look at any of the evidence she had with her except a month's worth of emails. It maybe it was a non issue because the proof of financial support to her was part of the I-129f.

In other cases, they have looked at how much was sent or not sent very closely. It's better to have it than not.

Hi Duke. That certainly is part of evidence of the relationship, so just please include it for the interview just to be safe. As for the use of it, I don't think the interviewing Consular Officers at HCM consulate pay any particular attention to it. I don't know of even one case where they asked for that kind of evidence.

As far as the visa issuance is concerned, the I 864 and the tax records are much more important. In other words, their bigger cocern is more like "Will your sponsor support you financially when you immigrate" instead of "Has he/she been supporting you financially"
