The judge and the other comissioner are clearly idiots, if "black hole" is an expression they've never heard before.

they prolly don't watch Stargate or any other SCIFI shows

or ever read a science textbook in their life.

or ever take primary school science classes. I seem to remember learning about the black hole in like 5th grade.
