Hi!

I'm trying to find out what the deadline is for bringing our children to the US.

I've read the guides about one year from the primary K1 visa holder but my question is more specific. I've even called the US Embassy in the Philippines and paid the $18 fee to be told they don't know the answer.

What is the deadline for the children to ENTER the US (not get the visa issued)?

1) One year from the issue date of the primary K1 visa?

2) One year from the date the primary K1 holder entered the US?

3) Six months from the issue of the K2 visa, which must be issued within 1 year of the K1?

I'm trying to figure out is the expiration date on the K2 one year from the date of issue of the K1? Or is it that as long as you get the K2 issued within one year, you still have a six month expiration on the K2?

You must have the K-2 visa in your hand within one year of the K-1 visa.

Then, the K-2 visa is valid for 6 months, just like the K-1 visa.

in addition to the above, the k-2 must enter the us within 1 year of when the k-1 was issued.

No.... for follow-to-join...the K-2 must be issued within 1 year and it has a 6 mos. validity... so entry can actually be delayed until almost 18 months after K-1 issuance

Exactly right.... I (K-1) entered July 2004 and my daughter (K-2) didn't enter until September 2005.
