Pattu Rani (F) Glad you're back, though it was pain... I felt the same when I came back on June 1st, but, at least I was sure she could join me in another 1.5 months time from my departure date.

This USCIS has to be revamped completely...

I told myself(and Govi) that this is the last goodbye(or as I prefer 'see you later') - next time he will be on that plane with me or at least he will have received his visa at that point and will have his air ticket in hand and will be joining me in weeks, not months - I can't take any more airport goodbyes. This time was the hardest... Why do the airlines make you check in 4 hours before departure at a small airport like KTM??? I ended up sitting with nothing to do for over 2 hours which I could have spent with Govi.... I had resolved not to cry after I went into the terminal and saw Govi for what I thought was the last time but Govi hung around and waved goodbye through the window after I checked in... The guards even let him kiss me one more time(imagine that at a US airport)... Even he (Mr. 'control') was crying a little..

Imagine if the IRS were run like USCIS....

So sad :crying: IRS will never run slow due to money inflow. Also, USCIS NOA1 will be faster since collecting money, only NOA2 is slower...

Thank you for your kind wishes, and happiness to Lotso!

We're nowhere near ready for immigration yet. My husband still had a home to sell and a son to prepare for the big move. I'm just glad this part of it is over. :wow:

Thanks. Yes, we hired the best in the game because we just wanted clear sailing -- no surprises. He even prepared the next step for us at the same time we were filing the I-I30.

As you say, it was very expensive, but well worth it to put our minds at ease. We had lots of questions and two children with our former spouses to consider. While the whole thing is far from over, we are finally able to envision a light at the end of the proverbial tunnel.

My thoughts are with the others who have waited much too long for their approvals. I wish them God-speed.

well, if you have the money, then i say get a lawyer.. if you don't have the time or the patience to fill out all those things, then get a lawyer..

but since i have no extra as of this moment and i do have all the time in the world to fill out those darn things, i just went ahead and did it myself! plus, mine was pretty straightforward and simple. no divorces. first time ever getting married for both of us. no previous children.. pure and simple..

but then every once in while i long for lawyer to just prepare everything for me.. :bonk:

Congrats again, Barbara.. half the wait is over for you!

every case is different and this site is making everybody crazy with approvals that make no sense.. (2008 filers getting approved faster than 2007)

Quite so. Every case is different, and hats off to those of you who have filed on your own. The paperwork is enormous and I didn't have the guts (nor the desire) to try it. You should really be commended.

You're right. The approval dates make no sense from our vantage point. It would be nice if someone from VSC explained the process, wouldn't it?

Congratulation Barbara.

Any approval from VSC indicates that someone is doing his/her job to make people happy. Unfortunately that someone is probably single person bombarded with a pile of I-130s so he just picks random files. Let's see who gets lucky next. :star:
