I've been reading this forum with great anxiety since we filed our I-130 back in May. I NEVER expected to get approved so quickly, but our approval notice was sent out today!!

I hope that your approvals are met with the same speed!

Barbara

To be honest , as much as this is wonderful news for you, it is still going to cause a lot of frustration to the people who have been waiting since August of last year and even those from January this year which is still alot of people. Congrats on your approval but try to think of the other peoples feelings on here, some things are just better unsaid. Congrats again though, did you do anything special, do you have a military spouse?

I have thought of your feelings and my post was quite empathetic. You all want updates, and I provided you with mine. My sole reason to post here was to give you a heads-up that things are moving in the right direction. I wish you all the best and, as I said in my previous post, a most speedy approval of your own.

As for your question -- my spouse is not military, and I am the petitioner. We did, however, use an attorney. I do not know if that makes a difference. Again, I'm only supplying you with information in the hopes that you get a better sense of things. This totally exceeded my expectations.

No worries about my feelings , im out of USCIS but VSC is not making any progress at all and it becomes awful for those people that have to wait and wait when they filed from what seems to them as 10 years ago to see someone who gets done in 2 months. There is always those who get through with no wait time while other suffer terrible emotional distress, I just always feel bad when those people who have been waiting 6-11 months or more to open up this site looking to see their fellow VJ members in their timeframe get an approval to get some hope for theirs but only see the same confusing thing of how these random petitions get done in a very very small amount of time. I am happy that you got done without your life being controlled by the process but again I just feel bad for the others who can only wonder why VSC does not do the FIFO policy. Didnt mean to make you think I was frustrated at you, I just tend to think too much about others feelings and thoughts.

Don't worry Barbara... It is the time for you to cheer up... Each and every post would be helpful to others to get to know the details, though there might be a frustration. I wish everybody a speedy approval and USCIS would cleanup the mess soon...

All the best to you. I agree that attorneys do not make it quicker -- they have no 'pull.' However, they do have experience in collating the documentation, and we would have absolutely made errors had we not hired one. (I only provided that info to a former enquirer because it's the only 'difference' I could think of). Yet, if you review the Ombudsman's report from late June, USCIS admits to handling what they perceive to be the easier cases first. Again, I have no clue how they determine this. Could it be that they assume attorney's know what they are doing?

All the best to you in your application. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
