have trouble to check Case Status online

I sent the N-400 to NSC on May 27 and did fingerprint on Jun 20. I have never been able to check my case status online. I phoned USCIS today and was told I could never be able to check it online. I am a bit confused here. Dose it mean that before FBI has cleared my fingerprints, I will not be able to check my case online or I will never be able to check it? Please, anybody knows anything about it? I appreciate your help. Thank you very much.

That's because your N-400 is being processed by your local office not the main branches at the USCIS. So the USCIS itself will not have specific updates on your petition.

08/14/09 - Biometrics

09/27/09 - Approved

10/01/09 - Received 10 year green card

U.S. Citizenship

03/30/11 - N-400 sent via Priority Mail w/ delivery confirmation

05/12/11 - Biometrics

07/20/11 - Interview - passed

07/20/11 - Oath ceremony - same day as interview

I was able to check my N-400 online. I have not been updated since receiving my interview letter, though, and that was weeks and weeks ago.

It still says that I was touched back in November, 2007.

Dec. 10/04... AOS Interview - APPROVED!!!!! (Passport stamped)

Sept. 9/06... I-751 sent to NSC

May 15/07... 10-Yr. PR Card arrives in the mail

Sept. 13/07... N-400 sent to NSC

Aug. 21/08... Interview - PASSED!!!!

Sept. 2/08... Oath Ceremony

Sept. 5/08... Sent in Voter Registration Card

Sept. 9/08... SSA office to change status to "U.S. citizen"

Oct. 8/08... Applied in person for U.S. Passport

Oct. 22/08... U.S. Passport received

DONE!!! DONE!!! DONE!!! DONE!!!
