Cute. Charles thinks he makes more than A.J.?

I love those precious days when Charles crows over his adorable little annual income. :)

and i just love those great moments in vj when those without a job show up in a conversation like this ;)

while aj makes more than me (note i didn't specifically name him as i remember him alluding to making about mid 100k, he probably has less disposable income than i due to steep taxes where he is).

Charles,

I've never disclosed on VJ, unless I've forgotten

No, you haven't. (You do have some class.) :)

Just assuming it would be hard for you to live on Charles's salary.

Charles you know I'm just messin with ya

charles isn't on salary ;)

I will only believe people are as rich as they claim to be when they post their tax returns on their profiles for the rest of us to judge whether or not they earn enough to be jealous or have class envy.

and the same could be said about those who crow about "their state" being a net contributor while dissing those who make pretty decent bucks in other states is labeled a mooch. ;)

There's been plenty of coverage about the flooding. Biggest difference is mostly that NOLA had the problem of residents trapped for days due to the levees failing (and parts being too low to drain), and being a fairly well-known city it got a lot of coverage. (For a few days. It faded from the media quickly, too.)

Katrina tore up a lot of places on the coast that didn't get anywhere near the coverage.

Yeah. Like Bay St Louis, Longview, and Pass Christian, MS as well as Slidell, Mandeville, Gretna, and Metaire, LA.

I think the main difference here is the sheer devastation on life. Whether or not people "chose" to stay or got trapped, the devastation was incredible. My sisters said the stench on the south shore of Lake Ponchartrain stayed for months...and it was the stench of death, not just yucky water.

But devastation is devastation. Whether it's forest fires or horrific flooding or a tsunami or a Category 5 hurricane. It shouldn't be a pissing contest.

No, it shouldn't. But this is VJ. If you don't make lots of money, you're a worthless piece of sh!t. If you aren't a raging liberal, you're a piece of sh!t. If you don't have a "clique" that backs up your every statement, you're a piece of sh!t. If you don't live in a major city or on a coast, you're a piece of sh!t.

Luckily, I'm happy with being a piece of sh!t.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

I pay a lot of federal taxes too. And my taxes are NOT returned to me or anyone else's contribution in my state. Other who may pay a lot of federal taxes are getting a lot back from what they pay and then have the audacity to make blanket statements about MY state (that I currently live, spent 23 years in flyover country). It goes both ways so you know, you can only be so precious about it.

Absolutely it shouldn't. Neither should it be the basis for :whistle::whistle: "where's the outrage because black people aren't angry and getting fawning media coverage". Honestly, I've never heard anything so ridiculous in my life.

Just assuming it would be hard for you to live on Charles's salary.

Actually, I bought my place making less than what I recall Charles said he made. Contrary to popular perception, home prices haven't always been this insanely inflated.

but your taxes are way more than mine too. here they run about 1700 a year.

And I love my piece of sh!t. Oh wait, that didn't sound quite right.

should i pm mags and report this remark about platy for mod action?
