Congratulations! You'll get your case number in your packet 3 :)

This morning we received a new interview date yaaay. It's next week on Friday the 22nd of August instead of Sept 18th so this makes a very speedy DCF, 3 and a half months from the day we sent the petition. Well..this is providing everything goes well at the interview of course :0)

Thanks :)

Woot! The Friday before the Bank Holiday - with any luck they'll be keen to get you processed and go on leave ;)

Fingers crossed for you, sure you've got nothing to worry about.

That's good to know  We were going to sent a letter requesting an interview before 26th sept as we have flights booked and the problem of schooling and housing if hubby has to leave without me, hopefully they will be understanding in our case also..hell, I'll take your 18th Sept date

We did it!

It's been a long day, the embassy was so busy today, we had to wait for about 3 and a half hours but the officer who interviewed us was very polite and friendly. Luckily I didn't "forget" any documents but I wasn't really asked for anything more than what the checklist said. There were no questions about how we met, where we are going to live, what we're going to do...nothing at all. He just looked at the documents, asked about my husband's new job, I had a copy of the signed contract with me so that was enough. Didn't need his birth certificate, bank statements, house contract....

How long until we get the passports back now? The courier said 3-5 working days but I'm thinking we better wait before we book our tickets, just in case. We plan on flying next week on Saturday :)

Hi everyone,

We received our passports today with the visas :) This completes our visa journey which in all wasn't as long or hard as I thought. Our timeline should encourage those of you filing in London, it took us about 3 and a half months from start to finish but I did gather all the documents before I was asked for them and posted everything recorded next day delivery etc etc. Oh and we emailed the embassy asking for an earlier interview date which they very nicely granted us.

We are leaving London on Sunday morning to begin our new life in the US. I wish you all a speedy visa process and best of luck in the future.
