hi everyone! it's been almost 8 weeks since my NOA1 date for my EAD application and still, I haven't received any biometrics appointment yet. I am so frustrated now to work and start everything here like getting a state ID or DMV ID, establish my credit and these stuffs. All of these will be possible with my EAD card while waiting for my GC. And since as of this time that I haven't received my biometrics appointment letter yet, I want to prepare for some circumstances in order to receive a temporary EAD which is the Interim EAD.

Has anybody experienced applying for this one? How was your experience?

any reply will be highly appreciated.

09/14/10 - NOA1 Date (09/15/10 on the uscis website)

09/15/10 - $545 Check Cashed

09/18/10 - Received NOA1

11/04/10 - Biometrics Appointment

01/06/11 - ROC Approval Date/Card Production Ordered

Interm EADs are no longer issued for people in your situation, if at all. If you enquire about this at a local USCIS office, you will be told that there is nothing the local office can do to help as the EADs are produced from a single national location. They may let the NBC know that you are waiting, but they will not be able to issue you with anything.

USCIS has a recommendation to process EAD applications within 90 days, but this isn't a rule they have to follow. Some take less, some take more.

thanks a lot for the reply. i already got my biometrics appointment letter last july 7. Thank God! it will be next week, july 22. and i pray that my EAD will be released by next month.

I wound up getting my green card about a week before the EAD card came. I believe the whole process took about 80 days or so. I'd say you're close.

The wait for the biometrics took longer than I thought it would. The wait after the fingerprints took barely any time at all.
