Our embassy will be the London location. I like having my paper work done way ahead of time for things, but I don't want to make these too soon & they end up expiring...! I was going to start gathering these documents up in August...should I wait until my fiance has an interview date?

If someone could give me a rough idea of how much time I need to get this stuff gathered, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks to all who give me nice replies! :star:

I believe a period of 1 yr is ok. You should be gathering information on this form. I did mine altogeter when I filed I-12F, in June and never has a problem on the interview. However, during the interview scheduling, the US Embassy will give you a checklist, eg, recent paystub, w-2 or income tax, company letter but they never ask for it. According to your timeline, your NOA2 was approved in June, so they give you 4 months to complete. You now have more than 3 months left to complete so I would say, go ahead and do it now.

One more thing, US Embassy never ask these because I did all these (I-134) when I filed my I-129F ... Some people wait until package3, but not necessary.

Ahhh okay! Thanks for the response! :) :) That also means I shall start to bug my co-sponsor about it now! Yay! Fun times ahead...as I think he may drag his feet around. My family is all about taking ages to get things done. :/

Thanks again. :)

London's pretty easy but the best practice is for affidavits of support to be as current as practical. While there may be no specific "expiration date" remember, the purpose is to convince the Consular officer the visa applicant will not become a public charge. Showing evidence you had a job six months ago is far less effective that if the evidence is no more than a couple months old.

I'd suggest filling out the forms and getting the tax returns ready early, then just take the forms to the notary, add the pay stubs to the package and mail it over with your more current evidence of bona fide ongoing relationship within the month before the interview.

The best answer I ever saw to the question, "When should I send my I-134 and evidence and what's the best shipping method?" was "In your carryon luggage."

Thanks for the reply! Yeah, I plan on going over there to attend the interview with him. I was going to begin with, but it seems like that royal mail is even being more of a pain lately. I spent $50 on a little care package & it should of got there last week. I love snail mail. :s
