Hi,

Has anyone had any experience applying for citizenship through the USCIS Baltimore Office. I have had my reciept letter informing me that my application has been sent from the Vermont Service Center to the Baltimore office for processing. I applied last year but was denied due to continuous residency requirement. The whole process took around four months. However, the USCIS website is now saying it takes a year from start to finish for cases in Baltimore! I am wondering if I was fast tracked the first time because I was denied. Has anyone had an experience with N400's through Baltimore????

I have. The USCIS Website shows they are supposedly working on applications filed May 01, 2005. It was November 2003 when my wife submitted her N-400 last October and I questioned were they really that far behind. Couldn't get an answer out of them so I contacted Senator Barbara Mikulski's immigration liaison and wife received an interview notice about a week later for interbview this past January, but application couldn't be approved do to the security checks not having been completed. Waited another two months and contacted Senator Barbara Mikulski's immigration liaison again and wife received ceremony notice again a week later. She was sworn in last Friday. So it was around 7 months from date of filing to naturlization ceremony.

Contact Senator Barbara Mikulski's immigration liaison if you don't hear anything or want to know if 05/2005 is the correct processing date.

6 months and 10 days from sending in my N-400 (2004/10/15) to oath (2005/04/25); at the time I applied, the date on the site was 2003/09/30!

So my recommendation is: send in the N-400 (priority mail, delivery confirmation) and pray for quick processing!
