Whats ups fellow vj'ers. Hope everyone is really taking their case one day at a time. I'll make this short My bro in law's his fiancee was approved for a k1 visa by the U.S. embassy in Pakistan about 2 wks ago and was told she was to get the visa in 7-10 days and was given a receipt to receive the passport , she still hasn't received the passport. Is it possible that she can be put on ap or her visa refused after the fact.? Thanks for any responses

Refusal seems very unlikely at this point, AP is a very real possibility. They actually start the security checks at some point prior to the interview but it is not uncommon in certain countries for the AP to take months thus it is not complete by the time of the interview. According to DOS the embassy quotes an average time (I'd really like to know where this average comes from) that it will take to complete the processing but it could be longer or shorter.

Remember also they have to run the fingerprints.

Good luck and hope it doesn't take long.
