Woo hoo!! I recieved my corrected green card about 3 months after sending back my original card with the error. I was relieved to see that my new card has no mistakes..

Congrats.

They sent me something in the mail the other day, but the post office returned it and I havent heard anything since.

We changed our address with the two forms, told them at my interview our new address, and I still had to call and correct it twice now over the phone.

Once for my sons card getting sent back, now they sent my mail back they sent me.

I am hoping it is my card, but its probley just my NOA, saying they received it.

I just received an email telling me a Welcome letter is in the mail.

Do you get one of these when they are just sending you a corrected Green Card?

I sent my Green Card back August 18th to get it corrected.

I didnt think they sent you another Welcome Letter in the mail.

Did anyone get one of these when they returned their card.

They sent me this letter 30 days ago , but they didnt have my correct address. So they returned it.

I called yesterday to see if they had my correct address so that they could send me the letter they returned, but the lady on the phone told me she couldnt pull up my file for some reason.

I received my Welcome Letter Nov 10, and also received a letter saying they mailed my new card.

I pray that this card has the correct info on it................

Hi everyone,

First of all, this is a GREAT thread - it's been really useful - so much more information that I got calling the USCIS line yesterday, so thanks to everyone for contributing your stories. I have read about 5 or 6 pages of this thread, but unfortunately I haven't had a chance to read all 17 pages since I found the thread yesterday so please forgive me if my question has already been asked and answered somewhere else here!!

Basically, my husband received his green card in the mail yesterday but it had the wrong birthyear - the only thing is, I accidentally put the wrong year down when I submitted the I-485 forms for him!! I feel so dumb and just can't believe it did it, after spending so much time and effort trying to get everything right. His birthday is 03/14/74 and my birthday is 02/14/78 - I accidentally put 03/14/78 for his birthday (using my own birth year) on one page of the entire pages of documents that I submitted and that's how the green card came.

So, now I am submitting the I-90 to the Missouri I-555 Corrections center, and everyone's posts on here have been helpful, but has anyone else made the same mistake as I have? I'm trying to gauage whether the average time of 3 months that people seem to have to wait before getting their new card is specific to those times where USCIS has made a mistake and not the petitioner, and if anyone else made the mistake themselves, what their experience has been...

Again, I feel so frustrated and so stressed about the whole thing - after waiting almost 2 years for this day to come, it all gets ruined by a dumb mistake on my part. Please help if you can!!!!!!

Add me to the list also, dispite calling USCIS 7 times, and calling them each time a letter arrived from them with my name spelt wrong, and telling them in person at my biometricts appointment it was wrong and each time them telling me it would be put right, I now get my Green Card with my name wrong and date of birth wrong.

sorry to here this has happened to you... get your I-90 in the mail and then go to your local office on infopass and ask for a temp I-155 stamp to cover you for work and travel while you wait the new card...

I sent in my green card with USCIS errors and a completed I-90 on July 17th. It was received in Lee's Summit, MO on the 19th. Still no word...

I was wondering how many were able to get the I-551 stamp in your passport before you send in your green card and the I-90 to correct the error. I don't want to just send in the green card and wait for ever!

Hachemi's name was misspelled on his green card. I filled out the I 90, then made an info pass appointment in Memphis. We were lucky they had one available the next day. I took a copy of our filed AOS, birth certificate, and passport. We showed the officer the mistake and she looked his name up in the system and said it was correct there. She kinda rolled her eyes that someone had made the mistake. She typed some stuff in the computer. Stamped his passport with the I 155 stamp. It expires in 6 months. She said go ahead and send the I 90 and greencard back and we did not have to pay the fee. I mailed it the next day (06/09/2007) and we haven't heard anything since.

Before I submitted my green card with incorrect info. I made an infopass and stated that I wanted an I-551 before I submitted my green card + I-90. They would not give me a stamp unless I was travelling in the next week or so.

The infopass officer instructed me to send in my I-90 + card, and indicated that I should receive a NOA in a few weeks. If I needed to travel, I could show my NOA to get a I-551 stamp.

My I-90 was received on 7/19 in Missouri. So far I have no NOA and no I-551 stamp.
