I-90 Info thread for Greencard errors

I would just like to announce a big #### YEAH for being informed by my husband that the CORRECT Green Card arrived in the mail just now!!
With a bad, squished photo of me, but ME nontheless!! Woohooo!! 265 days since sending off for the replacement. Never thought it would take this long but I'm glad to have it now. Shoot, I almost thought I was going to have citizenship before the GC!

Steffi, I missed this post of yours that you *finally* got your corrected green card. I was just thinking of you the other day and wondered if you EVER got your green card or if you ultimately had plastic surgery to look like the GC photo. :lol: Glad it at long last was straightened out. :thumbs:

Hi everyone,

Last night i checked my mailbox, and a recieved a letter from the NBC basincally they have recieved my 1-90 and supporting documents anda decsion should be made in 90-120 days. i feel a little better knowing the documents were recieved.

Finally got word from them. A general letter asking us not to contact them To expect a 90-120 day wait on a replacement card. I am just happy to hear from them at this point.

After phoning in an inquiry last month and getting an email back 2-3 weeks later telling me I "had to keep waiting" and no other information, I got this today when checking the status of my I-90 online!

Case Status

Receipt Number: WAC**********

Application Type: I90, APPLICATION TO REPLACE ALIEN REGISTRATION CARD

Current Status:

On September 12, 2006, after approving your application, we ordered you a new card. Your card will be mailed to you as soon as it is ready.

I want to get excited but waiting on actually getting it and seeing if something new is wrong now.

I'm still in disbelief - it's been so long.

Oh Congratulations..... I got that email just 12 days before my new greencard arrived......

Awesome! I received that same message, and then four days after that I received this message:

On August 21, 2006, the card order was completed and we mailed the applicant's new card

directly to him or her.

And one more day after that the card was in my mailbox. So fingers crossed for you!

Got a letter today saying to expect the new and improved green card in 2-3 weeks :dance:

When I saw the envelope and felt that there was no card shape in there I got angry instantly wondering what it was they would want from me next.. preparing to give them my first born (about the only thing they have not asked me for by now in this crazy process) ... what a relief to see it was just a letter telling me the card is on the way.

hi everyone! i'm afraid i'm now part of the green card error club! :unsure: they've put in the wrong birthdate! ugh! now instead of me being 25, according to the GC, i'm only 15 yrs. old. i hope it won't take that long to get the new and correct gc, but looking at some of you guys' timeline, it could even take up to 9-10 mos! :angry: i'll keep ya'll posted once we mail the I90 form and hear something from uscis.

Hi all. so i recently mailed my I 90 form and checked reason "d" (administrative error) but now i'm afraid i've used the wrong address. i read (and was told by someone from the uscis help center) that u send it to the address that your card came from since that is where they processed the application for the I551 card.

However, i only used the P.O. box adress that was on the I551 notice. i called again today and was told that i should've sent it to the full address and not just the P.O box, which is where i sent it to, for the Missoury Service Center.

Has anyone else done this? and if so, did uscis send u back your I90 and all the documents you sent or did they forward it to the correct address? any advice/response will be greatly appreciated

Well guys and gals, you may have read in my Uh oh post that I am also now part of the 'GC error- USCIS are a bunch of morons' group unfortunately( thanks Meauxna for refering me here). If you didn't read my other post, I was actually approved and received my Green Card back in January but stupidly even after checking the card over I didn't notice that they had the resident since and valid to dates wrong (the same situation as you Pink Roses) until a few days ago when we were filling out the info the airline needs for our trip home to England next Friday! Luckily it won't cause any problems with my trip as even with the wrong date its valid until January 17 2007, but as soon as I get back I guess I need to start the I-90 process to get it all fixed, so I'm glad I was sent to you guys!

I really don't like the idea of having to send off my Greencard though and then not getting an NOA, though it looks like CSC cases in general have received them. I wonder whether if I made an Infopass appointment and took the I-90 filled out and all the info etc with my greencard whether they would give me a stamp for the year there and then? I did actually get a stamp when I was approved at my interview but it was only valid til April 06 for some reason and it's also in my old passport so I want the new stamp in my new passport before I have to part with my GC- wishful thinking maybe!!

Also, just a stab in the dark here but I wonder what would happen if I just went with the wrong date and applied to lift conditions in October to get the 10 year card as would be needed if the dates were true? Would be kinda cool to get ahead of the game rather than the thought of waiting around on USCIS for another 9-10 months to get a corrected card. But then I don't think that would be worth the worry that it would get picked up on, after all it says I became a Permanent Resident on Jan 17 05 when I didn't even enter the US on my K1 until March 10th, so when I sent all the paperwork in to lift conditions it wouldn't all match up... yeah no I won't be going for the going with it route I think!!

Ironically, if I hadn't missed the error in the first place and had sent everything off in January then I would be finished with the I-90 process by now- oh well I guess I got to live in ignorant bliss that the immigration ####### was all finished with for a while for 9 months LOL!! I'm just glad we're going on this trip home now or I may have never noticed until they denied me entry when the wrong date ran out :hehe:

So of to vacation next Friday then back to getting into the swing of immigration issues again!
