Sorry to hear the same thing happened to you as happened to me.... I had to wait about 6 months in total from re-filing the I-90 before I got my Greencard... when I went for the new Biometrics I was told there not to expect it before six months from the date of my Biometrics but it came just a few weeks later....

I hope you hear something soon....

Kezzie

Thanks Kezzie. I can't figure out why they don't send such "important" documents registered if they are worried about it getting into someone else's hands?

It has been over two months since I applied for a new card and have not heard a peep. From the others in the list it looks as if the MSC does send out NOAs yet I have not recieved one yet. Is it that random or should I be calling someone?

At 47 days without any NOA from my turned-in greencard, I contacted my 2 senators' and 1 congressman's office. I told them all that I was cross-inquiring all offices and exactly what actions I'd taken to get answers and what actions I expected* of them.

Within the first week I had a status from a senator's office where I couldn't get one from USCIS. If I were you, I would definitely get yours involved, if only to find out if they've received it. That was my big worry, as I had no receipt and no returned check to verify they even got my package.

I hope you can get an answer soon! :)

*I actually phrased it 'requested' of them. ;)

Check their individual websites as well...it will help things go faster if you find the 'release of private information' authorization form and have it filled out. I faxed that with my letter and I'm pretty sure that sped things up...they didn't have to check back with me to get my consent.

That's the husband. Who is apparently deluded into thinking that I would really give a damn that he's again acting like a petulant child.

This case has been approved. On July 6, 2006, an approval notice was mailed. If 30 days have passed and you have not received this notice, you may wish to verify or update your address. To update your address, please speak to an Immigration Information Officer during business hours.

How interesting. I got that exact same email on that exact same day too. Only as I can see you have since received your Green Card. Congratulations!

I received said notice letter in the mail right away and hadn't heard anything else since. Then today I receive yet another email stating:

"On August 17, 2006, after approving your application, we ordered you a new card. Your card will be mailed to you as soon as it is ready."

So heck if I know what that's all about! All I know is that they make it sound like my AOS has been approved for a 3rd time!! At least this one sounds more promising with the mention of the card being mailed out as soon as it's ready. *big sigh*

calamitykid: Even though I received my GC (with another woman's photo), the same thing happened to me as far as the system not showing up that I was ever approved. Hubby's been telling me to call the 800 number to see if maybe I'm in the system now that I've received another "approval" letter, but I've been too lazy to sit on hold for 30 minutes. Of course this new lette gives me some hope. But yeah, thought I'd mention I'm in the same boat.

Here's to hoping that I'll finally get my replacement GC after 9 months!

yes iam the husband and my wife allways thanks people for their advice....im so sick of all you ###### cry babies get a ###### life....

Your wife is a very nice woman and I've enjoyed the few exchanges I've had with her.

As for 'cry babies' you're the only one here whining about no one helping you make a life decision. Do it, don't do it. Whatever. It's not mine or anyone else's problem and if your attitude is that people here owe you something, then you're sadly mistaken.

I'll take a page out of everyone else's book here and not reply to you anymore. Have a great day! :)

I dont know why you feel the need to talk to people in this manner.... if you have an issue with another user you can always report them and put them on ignore.... but to post this in a thread that is trying to help people who are having problems with the Greencard is just plain childish.... if you are trying to get help with a problem and you feel you did not get the required answer I am sure there are 100's of lawyers out there who will be more than happy to help.... for a fee of course...

As for getting a Life.... I have a wonderful life thanks and if I can help other to get the same here on VJ then I am happy....

Hope you enjoy your life

Kezzie

Woohoo!!!! Woke up this morning to find this email in my inbox:

On August 21, 2006, the card order was completed and we mailed the applicant's new card

directly to him or her.

Now the magic question is, will this be the right card?? I hope to find out within this week! *fingers crossed*

Yesterday our Green Card arrived and after a relatively smooth process it all came crashing down when we noticed that my wife is no a "M" instead of a "F". I called USCIS today and got a rather unfriendly lady who was reading from a script detailing the process. I did ask if the I-551 stamp in her passport allows her to travel and I was assured that it would. The stamp is good for one year and I guess this is something that is standard practice after the interview. Below is the address and letter I sent to USCIS to resolve the situation. I was told 180 days on the phone and managed to remain calm although I did work in a few "I can't believe you guys screwed this up" comments which made me feel a bit better and relieve some of the built up steam.

Letter:

To: U.S.C.I.S.

From:

Date: August 22, 2006

RE: Green Card issued with incorrect information due to U.S.C.I.S. administrative error.

On August 21, 2006 my wife received her Green Card in the mail. We noticed immediately that the Sex indicated she was “M” instead of “F”. On August 22, 2006 I called the U.S.C.I.S. and was instructed to include the following:

Permanent Resident Card (Green Card)

Form I-90

Documentation indicating she is female. I have included the following:

I-797 Notice of Action (Welcome to the United States approval notice)

A copy of her Thai Passport biographical page

A copy of the K-1 Visa in her passport

The I-485 form with female checked.

The G-325A biographic information page with female checked

The I-693 supplement with female checked

Original Thai Birth Certificate and the certified translation indicating sex

State of Georgia ID card indicating she is female

A copy of our marriage certificate

A copy of the Ultrasound she had at Kaiser Georgia

A copy of the Pap Smear she had a Kaiser Georgia

Thank you for your prompt attention in this matter.

Sincerely,

xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

edit in: Just realized I indicated in the letter that the Original Thai birth certificate was included which is certainly not the case. Maybe I'll get an RFE on that one. Ding Ding, Round 3 and the fighters enter the ring.
