Sorry you had to pay the fee Kezzie... I wonder what they constitute as "b" then? It makes no sense to me to have the reason "never received card" to wave the fee and then make someone pay it for that exact reason. It completely boggles my mind.

Hope it takes less time than you think to get your card and keep us updated. (F)

Well, this just proves things aren't as simple or straight forward as they seem. Anyone with information about not receiving your greencard and filing in accordance to "b" reasoning, please share your knowledge on this matter. Apparently there's more to the clause "Application Reason “b” (My authorized card was never received)" that's not defined anywhere easily attainable.

How are you suppose to know if it was returned to them or not? I guess maybe if someone else gets in this situation they could call the 1-800 # that comes with the card and inquire first if the card got returned to the Service Center? On a better note...

I just got my NOA1 for my I-90. This is what it said online when I entered the receipt #:

Receipt Number: WAC**********

Application Type: I90, APPLICATION TO REPLACE ALIEN REGISTRATION CARD

Current Status:

Your I90 APPLICATION TO REPLACE ALIEN REGISTRATION CARD was received on January 25, 2006. Your request for a waiver of the filing fee has been granted. We mailed you a receipt with information about processing. It is taking between 180 and 200 days for us to process this kind of case. We will mail you a decision as soon as processing is complete.

Oddly enough, the actual paper NOA says it was received on January 19th and the notice date is January 27th. Also, they do not state the timeframe (180-200 days) on the paper receipt.

Just wanted to let you guys know I called the mis-info line about 3 weeks ago to ask why I hadn't received a NOA after I returned the GC. I was lucky enough to speak to a nice Immigration OFFICER who looked in the system using my alien # (as I didn't receive a new case #) and told me there was no record of them receiving the GC but she was going to email NBC to find out what the story was...

Today, I received a letter from NBC stating they have received the I-90 application and their records show the GC was issued w/incorrect info because of an admin. error. According to the letter, they will issue a new card within 2-3 weeks. So I'll keep you posted. Please pray the GC will be correct this time!!!!!

So my advice is, in order to get good info, you should call the mis-info line & tell the idiot who answers the phone that yesterday you were speaking with an OFFICER but you didn't have your alien #, so the Officer told you to call back w/the alien # so they can properly search their records, that way you'll get transferred to someone who hopefully knows how to get the problem solved. That's what I did.

I'll let you know if I receive anything else.

Haha I'm an idiot. I should have followed my own advice. I'm missing my NOA date!

Good to hear you got a NOA for your I-90 and it means things will go quickly for you Kezzie!

Aussie_Rachel, wow that was quick if you're getting your correct GC in 2-3 weeks! Hope that means they've picked up since Hotairguy and his 9-10 months to get his new one!

Wow, I'm gone for a couple of days and all this stuff happens! So everyone's getting NOA's now, huh? At least that's some movement, right? Did anyone ever get transfered like me? I feel like I'm the odd one out since my I-485 was moved and I never really heard anything about the I-90. Haven't had a touch since 1/30. Well I'm glad you guys all finally got your NOA's...even thought they're different timeframes. I hope they can correct their error pronto! Also, what's the WAC prefix?

October 23, 2003: AOS NOA

November 10, 2005: AOS approved w/o interview (749 days!!)

! Also, what's the WAC prefix?

its the CSC prefix on the NOA for these cases. Not sure if its for all correction cases but for the I-90 it is.

Good to hear most of you are getting movement ours still says this even though they said my wifes card should arrive this week

Each Service Center has their own abbriviation for receipt #'s. This is what I found on the USCIS webpage

LIN = Lincoln, Nebraska or NSC

EAC = St. Albans, Vermont or VSC

SRC= Dallas, Texas or TSC

WAC= Laguna Niguel, California or CSC

Source: http://uscis.gov/graphics/fieldoffices/scnational/index.htm just above middle of the page.

Here's hoping we all hear or get something soon regarding our cases.

Thanks for the info.

Kearinne, so it'll be interesting to see if they give you any hassle about the I-551 stamp tomorrow.

I also just re-read my last statement and found a little relief in the second part of their message, which I already forgot about:

On January 27, 2006, we received your response to our request for evidence or information. It is taking between 120 and 180 days for us to process this kind of case. However because preliminary processing was complete, the remaining processing time will be less than the maximum stated in this message. You will receive a written decision on this case.

So I hope it really will be less than 120-180 days! Though I do still think it's weird that you guys got NOA's for your I-90s and I only got my I-485 transfered.

Well, as some of you know, I had my Infopass appointment today...

I got the I-551 stamp!!!

No hassles, took 10 minutes tops, 20 if you include the waiting. It was kind of funny at first when I said it was because the card said I was male, the Immigration Officer didn't quite hear me right (I think he thought I said something about it being in the mail) but after explaining it again saying "The card said I was male when I'm female..." he said "Ohhhh!" then took my NOA1 for the I-90, scanned it in his computer and asked for my passport. After looking at some stuff on the computer, he told me to hold on a minute while he went and did something. When the guy came back, he handed my back my passport and told me the I-551 stamp in it was good for 6 months and if I don't receive my new corrected card by then to just come back and they'll extend the stamp. I can now work and travel by just showing the stamp. :)

Now to continue waiting for my card to get fixed. :clock: Let's hope it's less than 6 months. Dowtown Portland is a pain to navigate when you don't know it well - almost all 1 way streets!
