Technically, we dont need a cenomar. It is not included in the requirements anymore. Some of us still get one because "some" prescreeners ask for it, some doesnt. CENOMAR is the one that they verify with the NSO, "document verification". I myself was asked of CENOMAR during my interview but just the same, they will do their own investigation. Im still waiting for the results of my document verification.

I dont know the exact amount of time of its validity though.

True, but just like anyone here under K1, it is just right to have one as supporting documents. And the verification thing, they really should, we paid for it.LOL

I don't think CENOMAR is really that important for you to secure for your interview because we already paid it thru DV. That would save you 400Php :D During my interview when the pre-screener asked me for it she said "if I have it," so meaning, not really a requirement.

About the expiration, normally it's a year (if I remember right, it's printed on the document), but I read in E-Census website that embassies require documents not older than 6 months (for reference see #9 of https://www.ecensus.com.ph/Secure/frmIndex.asp) except for BC, I don't think it expires.

The decision is all up to you, whether to get CENOMAR or not. Good luck All!

I agree with Lei, you don't really need to get cenomar.. having one with you won't really support anything since they do their own verification anyway. If having cenomar with you will help, nobody would have to go through the doc. verification AR and Lei and others who brought cenomar during interview would have their visa right away.

I didn't get cenomar because I don't want to overpay NSO (nagbayad nako doc. verification, why should I pay them for another one- YES, kuripot ako) and I didn't want to go through the hazard of getting one. I just made it a point to bring with me my metrobank receipt for DV. The prescreener asked me if I have cenomar and I told her I don't have one but I paid the document verification already. I was about to pull the receipt from my folder when she said, it is ok if you don't have cenomar. Then, she just proceeded to ask me for other documents.

What is most important is you bring Birth certificates for you and your kids and NBI and then proof of on going relationship (proof of engagement, proof of meeting, etc.) and also the affidavit of support with its supporting documents. As for the cenomar, just make sure you pay DV in advance and make all the necessary follow up to ensure na naforward talaga sa NSO yong verification request prior to interview.

for other supporting documents that might help: proof of communication sa family members ng fiance mo, his divorce papers if any, birth certificate ni fiance, letter of intent.... baptismal certificate mo (esp. if malabo birth certificate), valid ID.

Good luck Marie. I do hope and pray that you will receive the NOA2 soonest. Enjoy pinangat and laing, and pili nuts and bicol express to the fullest while you still can. (I LOVE LAING and baked PILI NUTS)

Thank you.

I also thought that the BC doesn't have any expiration (it shouldn't have) because we are only born ONCE. But unfortunately, if by the time they asked to present that doc and the Census have changed the way they present the documents, I suggest to get an updated copy coz accdg to our immigration lawyer, they might question you about the legality of it. Why risk saving money if that would cause a long delay on your petition????? Plus, what is PHP1500 to a USD earners? (if you need/decided to use an agency to get your CENOMAR)

PHP1500 may not be much to a DOLLAR EARNER as what you said but for a single mom and other people who had learned the value of hard work and value of earning and saving, it is much. It even spells almost one sack of rice.. which means... a few weeks of food on the table... and for the other dollar earner, it spells a few more liter of gas.

I know the OP as well as many other filipina on this board knows the word "HIYA" that is why as much as possible we try to help our partners save even a little in the best way we can.

I do agree with you that IF necessary one should secure new documents but what I and others are pointing out here is that CENOMAR is already paid when you pay your document verification so it is NOT necessary to go and get another one since the embassy will just disregard its validity so sayang lang ang ibabayad mo for another one... that is if you know how to value hard earned money and not simply waste and think "what is it for a dollar earner"

And by the way if the "dollar earners" don't value mere $33.33 (that is more than an hours hard work for some) there should be no news of protest and complains against the gas prices hitting $3.. and now $4.

Just my 2 cents worth.

I don't think BCs have expiration since there's nothing on the document that states when it was printed (or meron ba? I didn't notice any). Except the receipt which has the date when you got it.

Why as much as I could save and lessen the expenses I will try to do so...Making use of this forum when it's for free.LOL. Simple questions asked will help a lot.

when i had my interview april last year they didnt ask for my cenomar and got my visa 2 weeks after the interview and that time we dont pay for that document verification that u guys have now.I think that was the reason why i got my visa 2 weeks instead of 3 days after the interview...well they didnt ask me,so i will suggest to get one and submit it even they dont ask you coz maybe in a way it will help to expedite your visa :innocent:
