OK so I get an email from USCIS and heres what it says ...

The last processing action taken on your case

Receipt Number: MSCxxxxxxxxxx

Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: Notice Returned as Undeliverable.

On July 9, 2008, the post office returned the notice we last sent you on this case I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS as undeliverable. This may have serious effects on processing this case. Please call 1-800-375-5283 to update your mailing address for this notice to be re-sent.

We live in the same place as from when we applied for AOS/EAD and got a receipt from that back in March, Then we got Adams Biometric Appt for April 5th sent to us in the mail, and the EAD card sent to us, and his SS card sent to us... so why would the post office have a hard time delivering this IMPORTANT INTERVIEW letter to us and return it back to USCIS !? :help:

The Organization that helped us file our papers, got a copy of the interview letter which I will pick up on Monday (hopefully) and I did call USCIS today and spoke with them and gave them all our info all over again and they said we should get the letter within 45 days but our interview is in 32 days ! Anyone else been in this kind of situation before ? What a stress ball! :help:

Quite simply the postal service screwed up. It happens more often than you think. I am often getting mail intended for my neighbors. sometimes it is just a matter of a new carrier covering for the regular carrier. Stay on top of things, and if you did not receive something that you should have gotten, get on the phone.

This has been going on in my neighbourhood for the last 21 years. Sadly, complaining does no good. No wonder they go ' postal ' !

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

I replied on your other post but to summarize here, sometimes the problem isn't with the Post Office, sometimes the address label printed by USCIS is so totally smeared that it is illegible and the Post Office has no way to decipher what the mess says.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Similar thing happened to my husband. We had received every piece of USCIS mail, junk mail, even mail from our neighbors, but suddenly when they sent his EAD it was returned as "undeliverable". We went through so many hoops to have it resent, but because USCIS had our correct address and they didn't want it to be returned again, they held onto it until we made an Infopass appointment and had an IO personally request it to be resent.

If an Infopass appointment is possible, you might want to try going in. Our interview notice wasn't on special paper, so they may be able to produce it there. It's worth a shot...you don't want to wait too long on this because you need to gather the proper evidence.

Good luck.

Also a suggestion made by World Relief was that I need to print the email I received from USCIS and bring it to my local post office and let them know the problem they made by not delivering our Interview Letter! What a great idea and I will definitely do that!

If you haven't already put your names in your mailbox.

Also if the organization who helped you out has a copy of the letter, what I would do is: if you don't get the official interview letter by the time you are scheduled, take their copy with you, as well as what you can see online and go. You have the date, you don't want to miss it.

08.2006: Entered with a B-2 visa.

07.06.07: Civil Wedding

07.17.2008 AOS approved with interview. It took 367 Days!

11.08.08: Big family wedding

09.18.09-10.03.09: First trip to France with Hubby

I-751

04.19.10: Package sent to Vermont

04.21.10: Delivered in Vermont

04.22.10: NOA date

04.23.10: Check cashed

05.17.10: Received biometrics appointment letter

06.07.10: Biometrics Appointment

06.26.10: Touched

07.07.10: Card Production Ordered!

07.17.10: Card in the mail :) Done until citizenship
