Hi all,

What is the difference between National Visa Center and National Customer Service Center? I got an email from UCSIS when they approved my case and they were telling me that they sent my case forward to the NVC on 3rd of May. My fiance called to NVC last saturday but they didn't receive our case. Is it normal? I am getting panicked. What should i do from now on? Should i wait or call my embassy?

Hi!

I had a terrible experience related to your concern. The only way to find out why my file hadn't got to the NVC was calling and calling the National Customer Service, including asking a congressman for his help. At the end we discovered that Vermont Service Center had stored my file in a wrong place and it took them more than 6 months to get it back. I really hope nothing like that happens to you, but call call call... wait if you have to wait on hold, be as obnoxious as you can...

I'll cross my fingers for you, good luck!!!

petitions can take 2-3 weeks to reach NVC. Try calling the automated number 603 334 0700 and press 5 to speak to an operator.

What is the difference between National Visa Center and National Customer Service Center?

National Customer Service Center is a part of USCIS and provides information/assistance concerning immigration services and benefits

National Visa Center is under the Department of State

NVC processes all approved immigrant visa petitions after they are received from Citizenship and Immigration Services in the Department of Homeland Security (CIS) and retains them until the cases are ready for adjudication by a consular officer abroad. Petitions may remain at NVC for several months or for many years depending on the visa category and country of birth of the visa applicant.

Thanks for your help. My fiance called the NVC today again and they received our case :) They said that they may be ship it until this Friday. He will call again on Friday. It was a very good news for me. I will start to prepare my documents for the next step and send them to our attorney. I think that is it.

I dont know what else I can say.

Thanks and good luck
