Buying a house

Darcy and I are looking to buy a mobile home before he is here permanently. I currently live in an apartment and the area I live in is very expensive. We found a mobile home we like that would allow me to get out of my apartment when my lease is up in August. The problem is I don't think I will qualify for a loan by myself. Is he able to apply for a loan with me? How does that work when he is still in Canada and I am here?

I was just wondering if anybody had an insight on this.

Thanks,

Jen

My guess would be to contact a mtg broker, but I'm not so sure. They do have loan programs available (at least here we do) for foreign nationals, but I'm not sure how it would work with the two of you,

Not to mention, funding mobile homes is an absolute nightmare to begin with. Sorry to be the bearer of not-so-great news!!! :(

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Hah, yeah you can't teach a granny to suck eggs :P

Yeah mobie homes are actually titled thru the DMV...and if you're not purchasing the land underneath them & just renting the land in a park...well, I don't even know if they fund those.

Jen - are you buying the land too?

We would be leasing the land. We are going to see it on Wednesday night. It sounds really nice. Its a double wide. Darcy says its not the kind with wheels underneath them. It is 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths. Its 1800 square feet. It has a garden tub in the master suite. A woodburning fireplace. Its in a newer subdivision. The mobile home is 10 years old and was once a model. The good news it is cheaper than my apartment and its only 1100 square feet. We would like to have something we would eventually own and be able to save money for a house in a few years.

Thanks for the info. I am checking into lenders on-line today.
