You don't need to expedite at NVC, if you follow online payment system properly, you'll be out in 4 to 5 weeks time, it is auto expedite :star:

Hey Liz,

Next is that they will work on your case and you will either get an RFE or an approval.

Then allow a few days (with us it took about 5) for it to go to NVC.

Once NVC receives it, you'll get the NVC number by calling NVC (you do not even have to speak to a live person, the automated message can tell you). if you talk to a live operator, you can also ask for the IIN (immigration invoicing number, I believe), which you will need for making online payments for IR-CR visa. Please read lotofpatiences guide through the NVC and Embassy process (if you haven't done that already) in another thread of this forum, it makes it all pretty clear.

I know NVC expedite is possible and it should be easier than at CIS. You basically need the exact same documents you have used for your CIS expedite (adapted cover letter for NVC, proof of deployment or CO letter, other proof if you also invoked other grounds etc).

I know it can be filed through a Senators/Congressman's office (they would file it for you), but I assume also by yourself (let your husband call NVC, perhaps, and make an inquiry there!).

From what I have gathered (we did not file for an expedite at NVC), NVC will contact the Embassy/Consulate and then decide if the expedite is granted.

5/13 : NOA1

7/21 : NOA2 - APPROVED!!!

NVC Timeline:

7/25 : Case # assigned

9/30 : Case completed!!!! (THANK YOU, LORD!!!)

10/03: Interview date assigned

US Embassy in Manila:

10/30 : Paid Document Verification (just to be on the safe side)

11/12 - 11/13 : Medical at SLEC

11/18: INTERVIEW DATE/MANILA EMBASSY/0630AM - VISA APPROVED!

11/20 : Visa in hand! (that was fast!)

11/30 : Flight to USA!

Life in America:

11/30 : POE:LAX

12/04 : SSN issued - 12/13: card received in the mail

12/04 : "Green Card" issued - 12/13: card received in the mail

NOVEMBER 30, 2010 : CR1 expires
