Hi! I came here a month a go to ask a few questions regarding filing my AOS. Everyone was very helpful and I managed to put everything together, I think. After sending it, I checked the tracking number and since I sent it via Express Mail it was recieved the next day. This Morning I recieved a letter in the mail and it stated that they had scheduled an appointment for me to get my biometrics information. My question to the people of this forum is that, Does this mean that my AOS packet was complete and they've accepted it? The reason I ask is because I filed the packet by myself reading the instructions USCIS lists on the website because I couldn't spend the amount immigration lawyers were asking for. If any of you have gone through this process. Does the appointment mean that they haven't found anything wrong with my AOS packet?

For many of us, no lawyer is needed to complete the AOS package. Congratulations on doing it yourself though! You just sent your package in a month ago, and now you're required to go for biometrics. I think personally, it doesn't mean that you couldn't still get an RFE for your package. Only time will tell. I think the biometrics appointment letters go out automatically. Best of luck on your package going through successfully!

It means they most likely didn't see any glaring errors. No one really knows the exact process, but they generally schedule biometric appointments very soon to get the ball rolling. If they see something missing, they will let you know. Try not to worry about it and enjoy married life!

Congratulations, you did it! The fact that they accepted it means there was nothing major wrong with it, however that is not full proof, as you can still get RFE's and/or other complications just like a lot of us have BUT the great thing is - they have it and things started moving! So, congratulations on your 1st AOS progress
