Hi Guys!

Well I am almost there. I had my interview yesterday. I waited for about 2 hours before I got called (not sure why they give you a time appointment). I went in and told the man I had brought all the extra documents they had requested and I pilled them out. He told me to just put them away as I was making his work space messy! It was pretty intimidating. He asked a bunch of question...did I personally know any terrorists, did I engage in prostitution, did I traffic drugs and so on.

I passed the first 8 question so he stopped there. He asked me how long the president served, what was the state capitol, when was independence day, ....gosh my mind is blank I cannot remember the rest.

Anyway my oath ceremony is next Thursday November 20th....I am so relieved this is almost over.

Good luck to the rest of you.

Paula

Congratulations!

I am going through the same office, so i have a question. Did you get to choose which test you wanted to take?

Aicha passed her interview with ease. She was given the option of new or old test, and since she had studied for the old she took that and answered all ten questions correctly. The officer didn't bother to look at her docs (marriage certificate, my birth certificate, etc). In 60 days she'll get a letter telling her when & where her oath ceremony takes place.

Woo hoo! It's almost all over! :)

Hi FVA, don't forget to request Passport Card.

Since we had been carrying Green Card for so long, I felt not secure if I don't carry anything.

For slot my old green card occupied, I had passport card, and filled the empty slot with passport card.

griffin, sirch320, and rclouse's wife, Congratulations! :dance::dance::dance:

Success!!!

I passed my interview today. The wait was only 5 minutes. The guy was difficult. He asked me where my husband was before even asking any questions. I said he was at work. He proceeded with the interview, asked me all kind of questions, signed all kind of forms. Didn't care to see any paperwork or anything except for the green card.

In the end he said he needed to see my husband before he could make any decision. He said that I might tell him that I still live with my husband but actually he is in Florida and our marriage is a scam.

So I got out of his office, dialed my husband's number and told him to get his butt to the immigration office as soon as possible which he did. :star: The officer talked to him for a few minutes (just small talk, not even about our marriage) and approved me for citizenship.

I guess he was happy to see that my husband indeed exists.

Anyway I should get an oath letter in a month or two (hopefully quicker).

The officer told my husband that they are doing it on a routine basis to avoid marriage scam. It isn't anything about me or my application, it is just a new procedure. Make sure your spouse come to the interview with you!
