Hey guys,

I got my oath letter couple days ago, just got the chance to write here. My date is 10/9/08. This thursday...It was so quick :))

That is great. I will let you know other things.

Congratulations!

With the troubles you went through, I think you deserve it.

What about Mr Zee?

I think he should be getting oath letter for this week?

pkmk, let us know how your oath ceremony goes today.

I guess SamFam is studying for Civic history questions for this thursday interview. ^^

In my case, I checked court house and they said they have oath ceremony scheduled for Oct 23, and 24.

When I had interview, I asked to interview officer and he said next one is already fully booked, so I have to wait.

I hope he didn't mean for November or December.

I wish everybody could get interview letter before thanksgiving holidays for July filers.

We have 7 to go for interview schedule.

I still haven't gotten the oath letter yet... the immigration don't organize oaths in where I live as often as in Chicago... so I would imagine sometime in Nov.

good luck to all of you... and I am waiting on pkmk to share his experience at the oath.

I got Certificate n they did oath ceremony in downtown chicago Federal court not my area court . They took my GC and said to sign full name (first & last) in certificate not just first or initials . In that court 145 people available for getting certificate .

Today is the last day to register for vote . I registered myself .

All the best to all VJ members .

We don't want nasty, and rude USCIS officers because they couldn't take their vacations, right? ^^

I don't know how St. Louis DO schedule for Oath ceremony looks like.

I hope that after interview approved, you can get oath ceremony done before the end of this year, so that could be your christmas present. ^^

Also, I'm updating my Oath date. :whistle:

When I came home today, I got the letter from USCIS.

Apparently Milwaukee Court scheduled another oath ceremony.

When I called them 10 days ago, they said they have October 23 and 24.

I guess because of election, they scheduled another one for me.

So I can vote for this election. :dance:

YES, at last I am writing here as an American now :) Well, it doesnt feel so different but no more hassles and nobody can mess with us anymore:))

That is a big relief...

Ceremony was cool. It was very crowded. Families, kids....It was about 1.5 hours total. You first get in a line, then you give your GC and the letter, then the officer explains things for about 15 minutes, then judge comes, you read the oath with him, then sing the anthem and then they give you the Naturilization certificate and you are a citizen....

WOW!!! Almost 4 years...The whole thing...I think I am realizing it slowly...hehe

So that is it for now. I couldnt go to SSN office or post office yet to do other things. But I researched it, you can change your SS information via mail if you dont want to wait in the office. Post offices only do passports between 10AM and 3PM. That is it.

THANKS TO EVERYBODY!!! I will be here once in a while to hear good news and congratulate everybody!!! GOOD LUCK!!! At least we are at the last stop. A little more that is it!!!
