Hello,

I would like to follow up on the mail I recieved from your office below. Neither my fiance or I have recieved the package from the embassy that was mailed on April 19th as stated below. Can we either get another package sent to my fiance in Jordan or get the one that was originally sent (not sure which address it was sent to) tracked?

Best regards,

JP

That does suck, I'm sorry. Its too bad that you are not doing a cr-1. I still have all our paperwork, and believe it or not, about 99% of it is generic forms that dont have any identfying info on it. Maybe someone filing k-1 can help here.

On a more encouraging note, I can tell you that AMM sends everything to the usc in the us, I dont know of any exceptions, and they send it by cheap regular slow mail and it took me just over 5 weeks to recieve their mail. I can also tell you that after waiting it out, I learned that the embassy has walk up hours on tuesdays and thursdays for iv questions or picking up forms(I was so mad when I found that out!!!) Perhaps they have walk up hrs for non-iv biz too. When H comes home I will find that out for you.

I guess you have more patience than I do. I have already gotten my congressman involved and they were pretty upset when they saw the email chain from the embassy. I have now been assigned a case worker and working with them to get this resolved. I mean, ok you want me to wait until February for my interview, fine. But they can't tell me to wait until December for my interview package, thats just BS!

You know something, I know people are always cautious about "upsetting the Embassy" but my attitude has been they are working FOR me as an American citizen, I paid the damn fees, and I have a right to pursue something if I feel I am not being adequately "served". I would write them back and bring to their attention that it had been sent once and you would like resent in a timely manner so that you have to prepare. December is simple not acceptable to you THANK YOU VERY MUCH! Of course, if you remain professional and non-emotional it's probably best as it is in any given situation like this.

I have to do this crud all day at work, so I get a little testy with stuff like this... if it's too forceful for you take it with a grain of salt. (I'm having one of those days.)

Well, lol, If I respond to their e-mail, I may just get banned from that embassy altogether. I'd rather take the diplomatic route  I agree with you, people do feel the need to be cautious, but I don't. There a meeting place for it right smack dab in the middle, I'm nice, but firm. :star:

I asked my husband and I don't know if your fiance is close to Amman, but H thinks that for non-iv visas you can go any day at 8am for questions or forms. later

Wow JP that was an awful email. I would be upset too and can only hope you can get some help. Hang in there.

Everything I respond to is from personal knowledge, research or experience and I am in no means a lawyer or do I claim to be one. Everyone should read, research and be responsible for your own journey.

Yep Amman sucks the big one.

It's very typical of them to send emails like that.

Sorry JP Amman does send the USC the packets. We finally received our K3 Packet last month and Anmar was already here. Talk about slow. Here is how the embassy works with walk in hours and asking for a packet. Sometimes they may give one and other times they won't. Anmar went for his and they said nope he just happen to see this lady that worked for this lawyer he was using and his lawyer got his packet. I think Lulu also sent his wife there because he thought she can just walk right in and get the packet. They told her no and from what lulu wrote she needed an appointment if i remember correctly and his wife being mad because she went all the way to amman for nothing.

I'll tell ya, it's like its not even an american embassy they gave my husband more information than they gave me when they responded to my emails. ok that's my gripe about them!

Hang in there (F)

Angel

You know, even though I'm going through a different Embassy, I wonder about something. I think these Embassy are so over-taxed and under-staffed ever since the changes imposed by 9/11, that they just plain rebel. I think I read something about the gentleman in charge of the Casa Embassy making that same statement. I know I was absolutely floored by the number of cases moved through the Cairo Embassy. I seriously don't know how they manage to keep up.

I'm not necessarily letting any of them off the hook. Overworked or not, they have a job to do (been telling myself this same thing all day... I was ready to quit at noon). I know what yanked a response out of Cairo when I spent 6 weeks chasing them for a verification of receiving my lease was a very emotional plea that 6 weeks had passed, I miss Mohammed, and if they didn't get it I NEED TO KNOW PRONTO and then I would stop harassing them! Gad it was actually a downright shameful email. LOL.

Anyway, keep on them. I do really feel for these people. I just wish they felt more for US!

This is #######, I am so sorry for you. Why are they making you wait until December is that when they have your interview scheduled? If so can you get the information you will need in you for your packet from someone else so you can at least work on it and get it all taken care of. Hopefully it will come in the mail and isn't lost in the black hole known as crappy snail mail. That is one of the things I hate most about Morocco is their crappy mail service. I really suspect in Morocco they throw mail away or steal packages so they dont have to deliver or get the items mailed. I know when my Mother in-law was diagnosed with Diabetes I mailed her a box with all kinds of diabete supplies since it's cheaper here in the US. But when I mailed it from the US Post Office they made me fill out the custom forms and tell what was inside. My husband had to pay more than $200 in taxes to get it. My husband had a friend that worked in the Moroccan Post Office and he said the Supervisor had Diabetes and that is why he wanted to charge the tax so he could get his hands on it. Since they threatened to mail it back to the US if the tax wasn't paid I begged my husband to pay the tax so that guy wouldn't get it since it would cost me more to send more diabete supplies and pay for the shipping.

Sorry about the long story, I just hope you get the package and all works out for you. Please contact your Congressman and Senator for help too, maybe they can get it when you couldn't.

Best of Luck,

Paula
