I sent in a copy of the original Birth certificate instead of the original itself/..... wd they accept it?

Is it a certified copy? If not, then you will probably receive a RFE for the original. They requested original documents or certified copies.

i had checkes with uscis and they told me a copy of that would be fine.and if u send originals you may not get them back.

yeah it is a photocopy i had asked them if i needed to stamp it to make it original they said nope a photocopy is fine.

We sent in all copies, and wrote, signed and dated a statement something to the effect that we are submitting copies, and if originals are requested we can provide those. Apparently, copies were sufficient.

For initial filing of I-130 with USCIS, all docs can be just xerox copies.

For NVC process, all the civil documents must be original or certified copies from the issuing authorities.

Yeah , the reason the K1's are saying they sent in copies is because they dont deal with the NVC, they will need to take their originals along with them to the interview, there is no real process for them at NVC, only a visa number is assigned. For CR1/IR1 you will need to send either the originals or a certified copy. Most likely they will send out an RFE, but I hope not because it will slow you down.

i know ... u re so right!!! i called NVC they said they want original n they will send the RFE right away...yes i do hope it doesnt delay us much
