If medical and K-1 interview are complete,

how long shoud it take for embassy to send the passport/visa to delbros?

We had only one snag ... kid's birth certs arrived about 2-3 hours after interview.

Would that throw the application into limbo?

As far as I know if she was given pink slip means approved, together with a white slip means she's under AR (adminstrative review) - she must have paid DELBROS the document verification fee at Metrobank before the interview to avoid further delays, inform USEM of the payment with complete details, this is I think USEM will send transmittal request to NSO.

The seminar is a pre-requisite before leaving the country for filipino spouses and partners of foreign countries.

Here's the website: http://www.cfo.gov.ph/cfosmefcow_guidelines.pdf

Hope this somehow helped. Good luck.

Thanks! It helped a lot. I called her just now to learn the details...

After the interview with the Consular Officer, she had the pink slip and the white slip that said to get the BCerts for the kids. That is all that was stated there.

Before leaving the embassy she paid for Delbros at the window, then she went to a table there to pay for the Doc Verif Fee.

She went to her hotel, and waiting there was the LBC with the BCerts.

She returned to the embassy and gave the BCerts, and the DocVerif receipt (which they kept).

That was all on the interview date of June 24.

Yesterday I sent a Fax to the embassy.

Day before that I sent an email to the embassy.

Each of those has all the information such as case number, contact info, etc.

And also mentioned that the airline tickets were bought for Friday July 11.

I am praying that the embassy will notify her to pick up the passports/visas at the embassy, so she can get her CFO and make her flight.

God willing.

HI there, if she just lives nearby.. maybe she or you can ask the USEM for her to pick it up.. its already been a few weeks since her interview she should be having the visa now.. but since she paid the document verification on the day of her interview it might lengthen the wait (although) i pray not.. might as well call the USEM and see what's the next best thing to do. Otherwise be prepared to call the airlines for the rescheduling of her flight.

Sadly, she is in Negros Occ. so it is 3 hours by V-hire and/or ferry plus 1-hour flight to Manila.

However, if they release it soon enuf, then she can travel to Manila, get the visa(s), attend her seminar, and make her flight.

I'll keep hoping and praying.

After 2 weeks from receipt of NOA2, your fiance may call NVC and ask if they already assigned you a case number. You may call USEM, 1-909-101-7878, ask if they already received you packet from NVC. If they do, you can now schedule your interview. You will go to SLEC for the medical exam and pay for DV in Metrobank. Start gathering your requirements as early as now. Once you get your case number, everything will go on faster.

Goodluck! :star:

Well I just called the number and spoke with Grace who was very polite and sympathetic.

Good news: The NSO request was issued 2 days after the interview.

Bad news: The NSO response can typically take 2-4 weeks to complete.

Worse news: There is no expediting available except in life or death emergencies.

I wish I had been better prepared for this outcome. I tried to dot all my T's and cross all my I's but still got it wrong. By the way VJ's K-1 flowchart includes the following:

13. Beneficiary has Interview at U.S. Embassy

Beneficiary has interview at U.S. Embassy for K-1 visa. All being well case is approved.

*K-1 visa will be issued either the same day or within the next week depending on the embassy with some exceptions

Sadly this statement is misleading. When ppl see this they are encouraged to make the reservations without sufficient lead time. I have no doubts that there are warnings scattered about the VJ site that caution against making premature plans and airline tickets. But the above note is apparently the one that stuck in my mind. I hope VJ will update that.

That's just plain wrong. I mean how long does it take to glue a visa into a passport?

Have u tried calling USEM at 011 63 2 3012000 ext 5184 or 5185? It took me multiple calls but when I got a person she told me the status and what to expect and how/when to check back. And no Visa card or PIN required.
