Greetings,

First of all a rant on FedEx- I shipped via the USPS and their "partners" FedEx several original documents (yes I made copies) to Italy for my wife's K-3 interview. Now of course they are late and FedEx tells me their and the USPS guarantee does not apply since they used a third party shipper in Italy. Well lesson learned read the fine print. I am working to change my company's over 20,000$ in FedEx contracts to someone else- I am that pissed but I digress. Rant over.

Do you think the folks at the consulate in Naples will accept a last second copy with proof that some original documents, like my financial support paperwork, were lost?

Thanks,

AJ

Unless specifically required, copies are suggested.... What originals did you include?

YMMV

My notarized form of financial support I-134 (Ithink that is the number, sorry my briefcase and such are not in front of me, I'm traveling)

My bankers paperwork was also included, with the signed form showing my deposits.

The rest is easy to copy, those two originals are not. If they let me in I will explain why there are copies.

Normally the original signed notarized I-134 is required.

If you can't get it to her in time I'd fax or scan her a copy and see if that flys.

May get AR but if that's the only reason it's easy to fix. Get another in the mail ASAP.

Well I am flying back over tomorrow B) , but I sent it all early incase I have issues getting there on time.

What does AR mean?

Does anyone know if they let spouses in for these K-3 interviews? I have read, and my lawyer tells me, it is hit or miss and up to the consulates.

Thanks for reading,

I sent my wife the supporting documents via Internation USPS (Big Mistake) and they didn’t arrive when they claims. We were getting worried, so I recent NEW notarized copies via DHL. They both arrived at the same time…go figure....

Our consulate required all documents a week before the interview. Not sure if that is the same at all consulates.

Bolivia Consulate --------

I flew in the day before and was able to attend my wife’s K-3 Interview without problems. In fact, we think it made a clear statement about our relationship and we were able to answer questions together. It went very well.

Well, the problem with FedEx and the USPS is that "if they give it to a third party" they are not liable for the guarantee, even if they don't tell you they use a third party. So after my package got to Milan, they gave it to some Italian company that took forever, but luckily my wife picked up the package just in time.

And in happy news, we got our K-3 Friday and it was simple!

We got into to the consulate and went up to the window when called, and the guy didn't even ask ONE question. Seems like all our papers were in order!
