He visits for a week after 5 long months apart May/03

Lee moves from NJ to WA state to be closer to me Oct 29/03

We got married!!! Feb 28/04

Our son Ethan was born!!! Aug 17/04

Got our visas Aug 1/06 !!!

Get there early so that you can wait in line, bring everything you can think of, dont bring your cell phone because they won't let you in with it. That is all I can think of right now.

This is the checklist we had for the interview. Just be calm and VERY organized. This consulate loves to see pictures for evidence of relationship. The more the merrier. Take hundreds if you have them. Also if you have an emails, bring those as well. If you want more info about them not taking co-sponsors PM me because we went through that same situation.

-Form DS 156 (2 copies)

-Form DS 156K

-Certified copy of birth certificate

-Police certificate

-Medical Examination report

Section #2 PETITIONER’S INFORMATION

-Certified copy of birth certificate

-Front page of passport

-Notice of Actions from I-129F petition

Section #3 EVIDENCE OF RELATIONSHIP AND ENGAGEMENT

-Pictures (in chronological order in separate photograph album)

-Handwritten correspondence between Couple

-Electronic mail correspondence between Couple

-Correspondence between Couple and Family

-Phone Correspondence (copies of phone cards)

-Proof of Petitioner’s travel to Nigeria

-Yahoo Chat logs

-Pictures of souvenirs handed out to guests at our engagement ceremony

-Engagement Ceremony guestbook

-Statements of family consent and support for the engagement

-Congratulatory greeting cards on engagement

All the best, I was in Lagos last week myself. Yes the cell phone thing is a big problem, my dad I think had to pay N100 or something to that effect for bringing his phone in.
