Free education for illegals while American kids are among the dumbest in the first world. There needs to be a better way of screening and selecting these Supreme Court justices. Being friends with the Pres shouldn't be the only pre-requisite. A brain would help too.

haha, but that wasn't my point.. but a good point nontheless.. they are in the US and they are complaining... complaining about what??... it's better than their own country (otherwise they wouldn't have come).. and they have stress... ####, I have stress for not getting approved for 15 months.. their "college" stress doesn't even compare to that.. and I have been through it too.. I have a Masters degree too..

You can compare your life in the legal system to the situation of a child going through lower education coupled with being very scared/stressed of a situation most likely not of their own doing? These are children!

I say lower eductation - because while that is offered, college is a whole 'nother ball of wax - and many are blocked from doing such.

but why are they afraid if they can't find a job after college? Is it because they are afraid of their "skills" or "legal status"? If they were here legally, they wouldn't have to worry about finding a job.. with most people, the education (and work experience) you receive can land you a good job.. even the lowest paying jobs (McDonald's?) can work part-time and go to school part-time and not worry about the "legal" status.. They brought it upon themselves (or their parents caused it by coming here illegally) the "fear" of having no job and being caught.. yes, the children's meanings are good (wanting a good education).. but does it mean just because they are here, they want all the 'good' things that legal immigrants get? I just don't like the fact that they are complaining (this isn't the first article by far)..

My Wife doesn't even complain as much.. she is just sad and she has a right to be... because we are apart..

Also, I couldn't get into UCLA because it was so expensive for my parents.. I went to the "Cal State" (pomona and LA) to help my parents save money... while these illegal "children" can get financial support from the UC system.. :angry:

So these children are lucky? They complain too much and the fear they have is some silly fear? You are not on the same level at all with what these children are dealing with yet you compare yourself to them?

Do you have any idea what its like to be a teenager trying to make a way in life, but as a result of a civil offence and choice made by their parents they have to suffer the consequences? I am asking, because I have not experienced anything like this myself, and cannot imagine dealing with somethign like this as a child.

true.. but their parents should have thought about it.. otherwise, that is NOT being a good parent.. so if I find a story on an "illegal adult", then everything is ok? I'm just saying that they should be lucky to even be here and having a good education.. lots of people want to come here to get a good life (and education).. but some of us (like my wife) are doing things the LEGAL way.. and yet she still can't come.. does that not account for the same thing the "children" are going through?.. My wife will come here and go through college too.. but she won't have to worry about her "legal" status because of me.. because of what I (and her) had to go through to make her a PR (US Citizen)... the children are here in America and they will continue to worry about what their parents did before.. This is the "consequence" of their parents' actions.. On the other hand, I have waited my time and still nothing for me and my wife.. This may be our "consequence" for not coming here illegally, but I would want this more than having to look over my shoulder and also worry about getting a good job and education..

so tell me how that is wrong.. we both want the same thing (good education and job).. the "children" are here, my wife is NOT.. you even went through the whole visa process, so you know how it is..

It's wrong because you cannot compare your stress of the legal process to the cognition of a very serious situation that these children in the article you posted find themselves in.

Yes, I went through the process, and a difficult one too - but never did I make the comparison that illegal children should be happy because they are already here and I should be angry that my (then) fiance was not.

not being able to be together for over 450 days.. that was just from the filing date.. we known each other for 3 1/2 years now.. tell me how we make that up.. the "illegal" children still have their family with them at all times.. the only thing is that they are "illegal"..

so if my wife comes over (hopefully), and she starts school.. does that mean she is the same as them?.. She waited all this time to get a good US education too.. and waited a lot longer than climbing over the fence to get here.. but now she won't have to worry about being "illegal" her whole life..

well, the "illegal" children always have a decision to go back to their home country.. so does my wife.. but we decide to do the right thing and wait for her approval.. and not just sneak over here..

I didn't say that they should be "happy".. I said that they should quit complaining.. =) they got everything good (that my wife wants), except that the only thing is that they are "illegal".. this is what I want for us too.. to have a good life here..

well, it's just like their parents coming to a 'new' country (the US) from wherever they came from.. If my case doesn't get approved, then I plan on moving to a 'new' country too.. have you not done such a big move before? then you can't really say anything about that.. My parents came from China to make a better life for them (and me)... They came to a 'new' country with not a lot of things and slowly made a good life..

maybe I said it wrong.. I meant that the "children" (and their parents) can move back.. not just the "children".. I moved here when I was really small too.. and I plan to "move" if her case is not approved too..

You're not alone, I get mad too.

I am trying to do everything the legal way and I have not moved an inch forward. It is largely because of these illegals why MY case looks so suspicious and will raise red flags to anyone.

It sickens me to know that sometimes the right way isn't the RIGHT way.

Leave the illegals alone, at least they ain't using precious USCIS cycles , like those green card and naturalization applicants that are given priority over family based petitions unfortunately. The fact is the government bailed out Bear Stearns that simply failed due to bad practices with the tax dollars, while thousands of working families lost their homes. To blame Bear Stearns or the green card applicants or the illegals is simply wrong - it's those in power that decided what the priorities are....and we can see the results - families being apart for unreasonably long time - families are at the bottom of the USCIS priorities and that's a fact - anyone doubting it just read the latest Ombudsman's report to Congress....it's not even a secret...
