Honestly everyone has had their passport kept, and some returned back to them after the interview followed by a phone call once they are ready to have the passport back to them to issue the Visa. They kept my husbands but often i have read that they give them back and will call your love once they are ready to issue it. I wish you all the best on the rest of your process!! :thumbs:

7/17/2005----I met the love of my life.

1/18/2006----Arrived in Egypt to visit my love.

5/11/2006----Sent I129F.

6/15/2006----Recieved NOA1.

6/22/2006----Recieved RFE (IMBRA).

7/12/2006----Replied to RFE (IMBRA) Sent back.

7/17/2006----Our 1 year Anniversary!!!!

7/19/2006----VSC recieved RFE (IMBRA).

7/20/2006----touched

8/18/2006----touched

8/18/2006----NOA2!!!!!! THANK YOU GOD!!!!

8/18/2006----VSC sent our petition to NVC.

8/19/2006----touched

8/22/2006----NVC recieved our petition.

8/23/2006----NVC sent our petition to Cairo Embassy.

8/25/2006----Recieved NOA2 Approval letter in the mail.

8/28/2006----Recieved NVC letter with new case number.

8/31/2006----Cairo Embassy recieved our petition.

9/24/2006----I emailed the Embassy reguarding my fiance's packet 3.

10/17/2006--Cairo sent packet 3 for the second time to my fiance. First one was never recieved.

10/19/2006--Packet 3 recieved.

12/20/2006--Packet 3 sent.

12/21/2006--Cairo Embassy recieved packet 3.

2/21/2007---Packet 4 recieved.

3/12/2007---Interview (He Passed)!

3/12/2007---Administrative Processing begins.............God please help me get through this!

7/17/2007---Our 2 Year Anniversay!!!

10/23/2007--7 months and 2 weeks of A/P and still waiting..........God help me!

4/22/2008---2nd Interview ( keep us in your prayers)

4/22/2008--He was approved for the Visa 2-3 weeks until he recieves it in the mail lets hope so!!

6/03/2008--VISA IN HAND! Thank you god!

7/03/2008--Our Wedding Day!

My husband had his given back to him. I don't think there's a rhyme or reason for why they do or do not ask for it to be kept.

Salam , After the interview(CR1)(Cairo) same case , they gave me my passport back , and the consular said wait on a letter from me to submit your passport when the visa is ready to be issued, is this what happened with you?

i haven't had my interview yet!!!!well i was just wondring becous i was planing a trip with my love outside egypt,,right after the interview and i don't know if they give back the passport or they kepe it and send it back with visa envlopee???????????

what should i do ???/i plan my tripe or just wait!!!!!

well i am pretty sure that they going to give it back to me becous i am pretty sure we are going to go throgh AP thing i wish not!!!!but as almost all got it why not us,,,!!!!! well good luck for all !!!

oh my god this procising drove me crazy already!!!

I would suggest you wait. Or at least make travel plans you can cancel easily. Like everyone said, what they do is so unpredictable.

VJ Hours - I am available M-F from 10am - 5pm PST. I will occasionaly put in some OT for a fairly good poo slinging thread or a donut.

Hi Khlilo

it all back to the consular, he/she may give it back or keep it , so if they decided to keep it , i suggest you dont ask for it back . its kinda rude, because to my view it means they are going to decide issuing the visa soon so they need to keep your passport to send it it to you visa DHL with the visa stamp.

is your interview coming soon?

They gave my SO his passport back after the first interview. The second interview they kept it and stamped it with the visa that day. It was sent back to him via DHL in a week. Don't try to figure out Cairo Embassy. There is not one person who has ever been able to do that.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.
