Hi all, thank you in advance for anything that might help us.

I am going to file the K-1 for my fiancee and I will only have a part-time job, G.I bill, but a co-owner of a 100k house,

do you think I have enough assets to cover the poverty line. Or having a co-sponsor is also sufficient?

You should check with the local Consulate or with another filers who went through the same Consulate. Some Consulates do not take assets into consideration. (even though they should), they will only check if you meet the income.

Agreed... However, your best bet might be finding a co-sponsor who meets the requirements (you do know about the "125% of poverty" rule, I assume), if you can.

Just in case your Consulate is amongst those, line up a co-sponsor; it does not hurt!

As an aside, it is an Embassy (Capital city) or Consulate (other major city), with a "Consular Section (internal office)". Please make a note of it.

Getting a co-sponsor is the safe way to go; however, you may be able to go it alone. The GI bill counts as hard earned income, but since it is not taxable you have to prove receipt of it (letters from the VA, deposits to bank accounts). It also helps if you can show how many more months of it you have coming. The visa information center (not the same as the NVC) told my son to write a notarized letter explaining his situation and to include supporting documentation. In the bottom of the file is a sealed envelope from Dad to pull out if additional proof of financial support is requested at the interview.
