My thoughts are with you and your family AND super job on noticing the blue feet and taking quick action, he has one great mom.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Hey everyone,

We are back in the hospital with Declan. We came to CT to visit my family for the weekend. On the way back home, we stopped to eat dinner. Afterwards, I was outside at the car, feeding him when I noticed that his feet turned blue. We called the ambulance and they brought him to a local children's hospital. There, the doc could not find a cause for the blue feet (and said it actually is common for infants to have that). However, while doing the exam, he noticed a subtle abnormality with Declan's heart sounds. They were more to the right than they should be. So they did a chest xray which then showed a possible hernia in his diaphragm, with his bowels pushed up into his chest cavity which then made his heart move to the right.. We spent the night last night, had an ultrasound today and had a consult with the surgeon. He is having surgery on Wednesday. I am terrified about the surgery, but am really thankful this was caught here, where he could be seen by specialists at a children's hospital, rather than at a small community hospital if we were further north when this occurred. And since we are still in CT, my family is able to be here. And it is amazing to me that we caught this, because there really were no signs. If he didn't have the feet turning blue episode, we probably would not have found out about this.

If anyone prays, please do so on Wednesday.

My heart cries when a baby is being hurt.. im sorry to hear.. defintely would include Declan in my prayers.. He will be fine..

I have heard about this condition before, good thing it was caught early.
