Age differences

I've noticed from some of the couples photos on the site that there seem to be others with a bit of an age gap (we are 12 years apart, I am older). I'm just wondering what the age gap range is, and if you have found any difficulty, or benefit from being older/younger than your SO.

This is not an exercise in judgement, and please don't let it go there. Just an opportunity to talk about what it's like to be in a relationship with someone older/younger than you.

Ewen is ten years older than me and I think it's perfect. He's at a point in his life where he wants to make a family life a priority, and he's able to balance his need for socialization and fun with being responsible and mature about it.

Honestly, whenever the subject comes up between us, we always say that we don't think about the age difference unless the subject comes up. Mentally and emotionally, I think we're on the same wavelength.

My husband is 9 years older than me. Then again my ex was also 9 years older than me...ironically.

I will add that I had been with someone who was 27 years older than me at one time. We were together for 5 1/2 years and then split. Too much of an age difference. We had nothing in common. Very nice person though. I was 29 and he was 56 back then.

Although my fiance is only 3 years older than myself my last B/F was 21 years older, we had a child together but like yourself the age difference became an issue for both of us...we split after approx 5 years.

My husband is almost 12 years older than I am. I'm 46 and he'll be 58 next month.

It makes a diff only in that I can do some things physically that he just can't do anymore.

I've never had a better match in a relationship. He is mature, and caring and loving and feels that it is his responsibility to take care of his woman and children and is an ace at it.

He jokingly calls me his trophy wife haha

Our age diff does scare me if I think about it too much tho. Chances are high that I will be left lonely when I'm in my 60's and he will die before me. But then again, anything can happen, right? And I'm already on the road to trying to get him to live healthier so that he lives longer...lol. I try not to think about it too much. If I am blessed with a love like this for however long I have it, I'm a lucky woman and count my blessings. Our age diff never comes into play at all in our life. We just love each other and that's all that matters.
