well.... when it is offically over "girl time" like sometimes the whole "spotting thing" can last a day or two longer.. (sorry men if there are any here) and I usually wait 7 days cause of what i've read....is that right?

I have read that if it is red then you can't pray. If it is brown then that is different somehow and you can do ghusul and pray.

That's what I read too... but somewhere it was if it is past 7 days to go pray... I don't know why 7 is in my head but it's been only 5 but I miss my prayer so much....

Yes, I read the 7 days if for some reason it goes past that then you can pray. Yet the also say you only worry about the red stuff, not the brown regardless of if it has been 7 days or not. Just do what you think is right. It is your intentions that counts too.

yeah that whole ARabic to English thing does throw some off. I have a personal question about prayer and "girl time"

Like if you can pray at that time?

The most common answer is no, but there is a very intersting discussion inthe progressive muslim groups that tned to go against the tradtional rulings and says yes.

Has anyone ever put a disclaimer in their work emails that basically says that you are fasting from 5am until 7pm so please excuse any unusual abruptness in this message?

I don't know about putting a disclaimer in your emails, but I might inform your work colleagues about your fasting with a little explanation of the significance of Ramadan; and how you would appreciate their patience and understanding if you seem a little stressed during this time.

Hopefully, they will treat you well during this time, and when Ramadan is over, maybe you can bring donuts or something sweet to thank them for being so kind. :)

It depends on how multicutural they are. If they are rednecks I doubt your ramadan disclaimer will make a dent LOL

so only rednecks are not multiculteral?
