Hi all,

I sent in the I-129F packet to the California Service Center and received my frist NOA in a week (7/1). I also sent the papers to my fiance to have a copy as well. He informed me that I put the wrong birthdate on the paperwork (I'm a terrible fiance). I need to know what would be the EASIEST and QUICKEST way to correct this error...

Please help!

Thanks,

Joanna

Depends on the error. If the mistake is something that can be passed off as a typo, you could wait till the petition reaches the consulate and let them know. Use the correct DOB on the application. It is the application that will result in actual issuance (or not) of a visa. The petition merely allows the beneficiary to file the application. As long as the error in DOB does not materially change the petition, you should be fine letting the consulate know of the error and then using the correct DOB on the application form.

If, however, the error is more egregious, then I don't really know what you can do. If you wait till it reaches the consulate, they can send the petition back to the service center if they want.

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.
