I believe this was asked before, but has anyone had beneficiary go to Moscow embassy interview without invitation letter?

Embassy recieved case number week of June 9,and interview has been scheduled Aug. 20.As of today beneficiary still has not recieved invitation letter or interview instructions. Case number and interview date of Aug 20 is shown on embassy site, but no papers to beneficiary yet.

You should wait until later in July for letter as it usually takes about a month to get. If you are concerned you can email the embassy but I think they never resend the letter...however you, the petitioner, will get a copy of the letter and if you want you can fax it to your fiancee.

Technically, she needs the letter for the med exam and to enter the embassy but some posters have reported not needing the letter. The embassy guards have a list of names each day and the med exam has the name on a list after the appointment is booked.

So, probably nothing to worry about...but we all know that worrying is the name of the game when it comes to visas and all the paperwork and other hoops we must jump through.

Thanks for your respone visaveteran. You say I will receive a copy of the invitation letter?

Yes, I would rather have the letter to make sure there are no "hang-ups".

Thanks again.

Yes, the petitioner gets a copy of the letter. Good luck.

They do not need the letter for the embassy, her name will be on the list that the guard has out front. Also, you dont need it for the medical (at least at IOM). My fiancee didnt have it either, and she had no problems getting in and getting her stuff done.

Today is July 7th.

Patience.

If she doesn't have it by August, download the forms she needs. That's all there is to it.

Svetlana still has not received her letter/instructions, either (her Aug. 20 interview was scheduled on June 16). And I have not received anything, either. I'm going to visit her July 29, so we will work with what we have at the time.

She's just a little worried they will ask for something that the web site did not mention.

From what I've heard recently, it's all been pretty standard at the interviews. Just make sure you have all the stuff requested on the website and you take copies of your "evidence" and financial support docs. Don't sweat it too much!

I've been wondering about that. My "evidence" was sent with my original I-129F packet, although I still have originals of everything. So shouldn't the embassy already have this information?

Not that it matters too much, anyway. Since I will be visiting her July 29-Aug. 8, I will have all kinds of new evidence that I will leave with her to take to the interview.

Maybe things are different for the CR-1/IR-1 process, but for the K-1 process, the petitioner certainly doesn't get a copy of any invitation letter from the Embassy. If there are any K-1 petitioners who have been through the process and received a copy of the packet 4 or letter of invitation (or anything else from the Embassy for that matter), please correct me on this. I can say from my personal previous experiences with both K-1 and K-3 petitions that I've never received anything from the Embassy and wouldn't expect to.

That being said, I would agree with the other replies in this thread. If she doesn't get the letter, it shouldn't be any problem with the medical exam or the interview.
