Hey gang,

I have a question.. I am writing my hardship letter. My younger brother is on disability and relies on me for emotional and financial help. He has lived with me at times, and I help him out a lot with logisitics.. shopping, appointments. etc..

He has done a letter for me, explaining all this, as well, as has documents from Social Securiuty confirming his disability, and his doctor. Now the question is this.. my brother gets into a lot of trouble with the law.. Will they do a back ground check on him? and will it matter?

Anil thinks that I should not even consider my brothers issues, as it will cause more problems.. but without this, I think our case is a lot weaker.

What do you think? thoughts?

God Bless everyone - it is hard being apart for all of us.. a special prayer to all whom are apart right now. ( as we are)

I don't know how it would hurt at all to include something from your brother. I highly doubt they would be checking his criminal record out anyway. And who cares if they do? Your brothers criminal record doesn't negate his needing assistance from you. I responded to another post earlier from you about your denial as did a few others. My suggestion was to get this name change issue out of the way. Someone else suggested going to immigrate2us.net. Hope you checked this out.

They should not do a check on your brother, they usually use only the evidence you submit for the 601 waiver package. The history they are concerned about is that of the beneficiary.

I also suggest heading over to immigrate2us.net. . .it is a very helpful site for this type of stuff.
