This is another example of "being over-prepared is your best ammo." During my interview, I got the letter called "Reaffirm Letter of Intent to Marry" which is the same with "Letter of Intent to Marry" that we included in our original I-129F packet. It's a letter stating that your fiance/petitioner will still marry you within 90 days of your arrival in the US. The thing is, they never asked for it during my interview, BUT if they did, I can easily provide it.

Just tell your fiance to mail you a notarized one and then turn it in as soon as you can so they can resume processing your visa. Good luck!

hmmm... what is this? packet 4 does not even mention a letter of intent. why can't they be specific in their instructions and list there all the things that should be done and prepared?

what could be the reason why they are asking for a notarized letter of intent dated after the interview... any idea????? ez2007, did you submit a letter of intent in your i129F?

Hi,

My fiance will have that Letter of Intent be notarized tomorrow, July 8 there, because the CO instructed "dated after today's date" and my interview was July 7.

Does this mean it's better to personally submit the document and bring with me our passports just in case the receiving officer will ask for them? I can fly from Davao early in the morning so I can submit it soonest and be back by night also.

I forgot to include in my experience that the guy at W-37 asked for my Metrobank receipt for DV and stapled it on my file.

YES DEFINITELY, IS UR HUSBAND WITH U HERE IN MANILA, I SAW ON THE USEM MANILA WEBSITE THAT THEY OFFER NOTARY..IF THE FIANCE IS IN UNITED

STATES I SUGGEST FOR YOU TO CONTACT HIM ASAP

AND LET HIM PREPARE A LETTER OF INTENT

AND HAVE IT NOTARIZED ON THE LETTER ITSELF.

AND ONCE COMPLETED..MAKE SURE THAT FIANCE

SEND IT TO YOU ASAP HOPEFULY WITHIN MON-WED

SO YOU CAN STILL SUBMIT DOCS BY THURS.

CONSULATE OFFICER CAN ONLY RECEIVED INCOMPLETE DOCS FROM MON-FRIDAY 1-2PM ONLY

BETTER BE THERE 1-130PM TO BE SAFE..THEY WILL

LET U IN TO SUBMIT IT..AND WHAT TO HAPPEN TO ME I PASSED MY DOCS 6/18 BUT THEY CALLED ME

7/1 AND THEY SAID I LACK DOCS..SO IF EVERYTHINGS CLEAR..THEY WONT CALL U AND IN FEW DAYS TIME THEY WILL GIVE U INSTRUCTIONS

NORMALLY THE OFFICER RECEIVING UR DOCS,

WILL ASKED WHERE UR PASSPORT IS..MAYBE I WAS THINKING IF U GOT THINGS DONE ASAP. THEY WILL LET U TURN IN UR PASSPORT AND PAY THE DELBROS FEE..=) PRAYERS FOR US..I KNOW EXACTLY HOW YOU FEEL..HOLD ON..

Salamat Gay :)

I'm so grateful that you advised me to bring pics of me and the kids. Maybe, that's their trend now for mothers. I think it's the only glitch that that pre-screener could think of. She saw my readied folders and binder.

Salamat kaayo. . .

'WHAT DOES LETTER OF INTENT MEANS?

i am assuming it is the letter of intent to marry which is part of the requirement for the initial I-129F Fiance/fiancee petition.

Vanz, i am sorry you encountered a glitch. :( What I don't understand is why are they requiring you letter of intent and why does it have to be notarized, it is not even notarized in the initial petition.... would it be a letter of intent from you and your fiance? could you share the questions the consul asked?

I brought new letter of intent with me during interview but it was never asked, not even the tons of emails and chat logs and phone logs that i brought with me. they only took the pictures..

unsa napud kaha nakaon nila noh nga daghan naman kaayo sila mga hasol-hasol na pangayo.

Let us just hold on to the fact that the consul did not tell you you were denied... they were only asking for additional requirement and once you are able to submit it, they will then process your visa right away. So I hope you will be able to comply with what they are asking the soonest.

I am holding you in my thoughts and prayers. (F)

Don't despair EZ. Contact our SO immediately and ask him to send you a notarized letter of intent. Bring it to the USEM as soon as you get it. Be thankful that you are not denied. Keep us posted! God bless you... :innocent:

Thanks Doc Lei :)

Hi Mae,

The CO did not ask for a Letter of Intent. It was only at W-37 that I knew about it and the date that it should be after the interview date.

Hi Rubchett,

Yes, we submitted our letters of intent and it was indicated on the cover letter done by our lawyer.

Maybe because my fiance did not come last December 2007 and they thought he had changed his mind on marrying me?

We decided to skip Dec. 2007 'coz he planned of going with me during that Interview but his ex (learned that he sent a petition for me) brought him back to court last February for increase in child support and more demands. I asked him to let me handle the interview myself 'coz I thought there wouldn't be an issue. That's one thing that came up in mind.

HI,

Don't worry about it, as long as ur given the pink slip to pay the visa delivery then you're ok. Just submit what they required of you, it will not take long as you will have ur visa. The same experience as mine, though what they asked me is to submit the divorce papers of my fiance, they also returned my passport. I submitted the documents along with my passport a month and a half after my interview, i got my visa after a month too. You're already approved, only you have to pass the documents they needed to complete your case.

Good luck.
