My husband will be having his interview next week. Does he need to get a new NBI clearance? He already have one and it's good for 1 year..he got it back in march..

Easy to update and doesn't cost much so why not do so!!

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

I don't think he needs a new one. NBI clearance is valid for 1 year and it's not 6 months yet from the time he secured one. I read on the NSO website that embassies usually ask for legal papers not more than 6 months from issuance. I don't know if this applies with NBI too. If it does, it's just 4 months from the time your husband got his newest clearance.

Just to be safe..why not renew it ..it takes only three days at Carriedo Sta Cruz..

it only takes one day to get your clearance BUT yeah 3 days if you have namesake :)

As Riza said, NBI is valid for 1 year... I got my NBI first week of january this year and had no problem using it during my interview last May 21. (my NBI was more than 4 months old that time)

USEM will keep your NBI so why not use the NBI you got last march, it will still be ok.. and then get another one after you receive your visa just before you fly to the US coz you might need another one in the US.

just my 2cents worth... Good luck and God bless.
