Hi my hubby and I sent our AOS packet end of May.

We received all the NOA's and he already did his biometrics.

We received a notice yesterday saying they can not process

the I-485 until they have a copy of his birth certificate.

We sent every document and I have 2 copies on file!

Has this happened to anyone before. Do you know how long

it holds up the processing? Do I have to send an original translation

again? I was expecting the EAD in the mail instead received this notice :-(

That is a bummer about them losing the birth certificate. :( I've heard a number of cases where they lose some paperwork that was most definitely sent.

You have copies of everything so no problem. Just send what they ask for again (with a cover letter of course). I don't know if you need to send the original translation again, or just a copy. Maybe others can advise. :unsure:

Dec 6, 2010: Passport Arrives
Dec 7, 2010: Sent for Indian Passport Surrender Certificate
Dec 27, 2010: Surrender Certificate Arrives
Jan 3, 2011: Sent for Overseas Citizenship of India Card
March 1, 2011: Received OCI card!

Divorce

Feb 2015:​ Found out he was cheating (prostitutes / escorts)

​May 2015: Divorce Final

Happens a LOT! Give them exactly what they ask for. No more, no less.

Just get another to them ASAP.

Normally doesn't slow the process much at all.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

I sent copies, it should be fine, you only need to show originals during your interview.
