I don´t understand that. I turn the light on and look at what I´m about to sit on. Are you saying your guy goes to pee at night, doesn´t turn the light on and pees on the toilet with closed lid and then you sit in it?

I would not feel comfortable....I have been in a men's bathroom and there was a nasty strong urine smell that hit my nose as soon as I opened the door..if I open any restroom door and smell a strong odor...I quickly turn the other way. I have to admit...women restrooms (if not clean) can also be nasty...overall, I try to avoid restrooms where there is heavy traffic.

To Blessed to be stressed:) I realize that all things have a purpose and a time.....have faith and the Lord Almighty will provide... when the time is right, he NEVER fails!

not talking about the lid talking about the actual seat and no I don't get cold wet surprises anymore.. I have learned to check first...

I did when I was a kid though.. I had 2 brothers who always left the seat up and sometimes when you stumble into the bathroom half asleep you don't think to check the seat and you just sit down...

But then you fall through  Well in my opinion it´s not their fault that you had a cold wet surprise :) You went to use something and didn´t adjust it to your needs. It´s like you go drive someone´s car and don´t adjust the mirrors. Then you can´t blame the person who drove the car before you for causing an accident if you cause one.

Your maths has no logic. No woman and no man go to use the bathroom the same number of times a day. Anyway... I don´t understand why women keep saying the seat should be down. I don´t lift the seat up for the man and I don´t expect the man to put the seat down for me. Maybe people should just keep the lid down and everyone will lift up whatever it is they need to be lifted :P

The math doesn't change much even if the lady goes 20 times a day. If the man always puts it down when finished, she has zero touches! If she goes 20 and him 5, then 21 out of 25 times 84%, she has no touch; when he wants to "stand" he has 4 in 25 chance it will be as he left it....

I must have been "properly trained"; I always put it down!

I don´t think common courtesy only works one way. You want the man to put the seat down then you should lift it up for him. Besides...how is he supposed to know if it´s gonna be you, who uses the bathroom after him or what if he uses it again after himself. That would mean he´d have to put the seat down just in case for you and then put it back up for himself for no reason while you never used the bathroom in the meantime :P

Well a man won´t usually start peeing while the toilet seat is down either. That would make some awkward mess :P If he is able to lift the seat up for "his use" I am sure a lady is able to put it down for "her use" :)

I have seen some men not even bother to lift the seat to go pee...

I've seen this logic used many times (in a serious discussion)... the woman falling into the toilet because the ring was up. However, by that logic, men could also just piss all over the closed lid of the toilet and use the excuse "It was dark. I was half asleep." I didn't look." It doesn't work that way though, does it? It's only an acceptable excuse for one gender....

Me, I HATE it when women tell me to put the ring down. Why? Are they incapable? I had to lift the damn thing to piss....they can put it down.

Of course, none of this applies any longer..... with 8 cats, the ring AND lid get put down all the time. Talk about annoying.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

It is an adjustment. For men, when they live alone the seat is up most of the time. When they have to sit, they lower the seat. I have never had an incident when I went to sit and the seat was up (no cold wet surprise). For women, when they live alone, the seat is always down, thus when they live with a man, there is the initial adjustment phase. After a few cold splashdowns, they will be trained to inspect before being seated..... :P
