I am deciding whether to bring most of my clothes here in PI to US or I will just shop most of my stuffs specially clothes when I will get there in US. I have read one profile here in VJ; she regretted that she did not bring most of her clothes. When she did her shopping there, she could hardly find clothes that fit her body size.. She has smaller body size compared to the clothes sold there. :star:

Hi, I brought with me almost all of my clothings in the Phils. but left some there also.

Yes, with my petite frame I hardly find stuff that fits me here particularly the jeans.

And concerning the prices, it is kind of expensive here.

hello good day to you!!!well on my trips and stays there i always bring all the clothes that i can as long as i do not exceed the maximum allowable weight..yes clothes there can be expensive but if we only convert it to php..we have to remember that the cost of living there is several(?) notches above us so expect everything to be expensive..before i used to convert in pesos everytime i go out to eat or buy stuff like clothes and accessories but it will just make us scrimp believe me..you can buy clothes that are size 0-2(for petite women) there easily..some high end designers usually make stuff for low end mass retail stores like wal mart and target..there are also the outlet stores but if you really want to save the money theres nothing wrong in bringing phil made clothes...

yup i think that's me :)

hehe for shorts, i don't have problem for it now, finally i found the store that has petite clothes that really fits me..

for shoes--- no problem here..

jeans -- i don't know where to find here yet

slacks/blouses/formal clothes -- no problem they have petite {but don't calculate the price :))}

my advice is, just bring your clothes, hair stuff, etc.. as long as ur baggage will not exceed.,, (but if in case (excess) & u are willing to pay for excess baggage, it worth it, promise) :) trust me... u will not keep on calculating in ur mind the $ to Php while shopping :devil: like me,, (wahh i can't help it, coz im not earning for now, just spending husband's money :star:

and i even regretted bringing so many stuff before..so this time my fiance told me to bring just the necessary stuff..ill even buy my wedding dress there..california has so many outlet stores,flea markets and vintage clothing shops that cater for all sizes especially for me since im a size 0 too so i dont see no problem..just avoid going above the limit and you will do fine..many filipinas especially first time travellers go overboard and they bring everything except the kitchen sink..but who can blame them?its that filipino mentality in us..

have a safe journey!!!

Hi RusselandMarie! This is funny about the mentality of Filipinos...but it can be true to some. If it is even possible, others would like to bring their Filipino home to US not only their kitchen sink :blush: or worst to that...kung pwede pa nga hilahin lahat ng mga pets! :star:

I crammed my cases full of almost all my clothes I couldn't bear to leave behind - I think it will get easier to throw things away once I have been here a while but the thought of leaving anything behind was hard!!!

we are weighing the same thing. debating whether or not to bring all Maribel's clothes or not. we decided if she could fit about $130 of things in the box it would be worth it, since that is what the shipping costs . actually she is practicing packing tomorrow, to see what fits and how many boxes she will need.
