That's great!!!

At least the NVC is doing it's job lol!

I posted in the "CSC slowdown thread", and I completely understand that us VJ'ers are a small percentage of appliers, but it is so uplifting to see people getting approved...it is going on SIX DAYS since we've seen any movement in the community, and it's so hard to take. When I left my fiance to come back home, he (being the strong one) tells me, "This is our last leg. After this trip I will be with you, and it will be for good!". (I love him!). That would make me feel about 1,000 times better if we had some sort of movement!!! (I'm the impatient one in the relationship lol!)

I know what you mean. My plan was to go back there when he gets his visa and have a wedding party (just party, of course, not a real wedding) and bring some of my friends and my mom with me and then all come back together. But since we don't know when this will happen, it's driving me crazy! I had to talk myself out of checking fares yesterday for Oct/Nov to go there.

Congratulations to you... I see Vermont is also approving April Filers now...

Did you say Jeff? Like me or referring to someone else? I replied to congratulate you and I am also thinking you were referring to me :D

For we walk by faith, not by sight.

I posted this in the thread about the "slowdown" at CSC and VSC

I just talked to am USCIS representative on the phone. I called because I received an email saying this:

"Type of service requested:

-- Non-Delivery of Other Notice

The status of this service request is:

Unable to access the file.

The case is currently with an officer."

I had no idea what that meant since I received an email on 08/06/08 saying this:

"On May 7, 2008, the post office returned your document I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) as undeliverable. We will hold it for 180 days from May 7, 2008 to allow you time to contact us. If you do not contact us at 1-800-375-5283 within 180 days, this document will be destroyed and you will need to file a new application or application for replacement with fee."

Was my file missing? Just what the !!!!!! was going on.

So I called.

It took 30 minutes to finally get a human being. They asked me my case number, then asked if I had received my notice of approval. I said no, I got this other email instead. And she said that we were approved 08/12/08 and that our case was at the NVC. (YAAYYYYY!!!!!!)

She then explained that there had been a computer glitch in which the approval notices had neither been mailed nor emailed.

So I do not know what to tell you all. Hopefully you are approved, and just do not know yet. I pray this is the case for you.

I also know that the system seems to be majorly jacked right now.

I want to reiterate that in a couple of instances, the woman I spoke to said there had been a computer glitch, and that approvals had not been mailed. She also said that the system was still down, but when it came back up, she would put in a request to resend our Notice of Approval. I have no idea what is going on at USCIS, but I get the sense that there has been some kind of major computer problem.

I don't know what advice to give, but I think it possible people have been approved and have not been notified. I think if I had not called, I would not yet know the status of our case. I know I intend to call NVC next week to make sure our case is there (the woman on the phone gave me the standard, it can take up to two weeks to get to NVC and another week to be entered into the system.....)

Maybe someone else can call and get more information on this "glitch" the woman referenced. It would be nice to get some sort of read on the scope of the problem.

Good luck to you all! I hope the approvals start to roll once again.

Received a letter from the NVC today. It says:

"The State Department's National Visa Center has recently received an approved I-129F petition filed on behalf of your fiance. This letter is to let you know that within a week the petition will be forwarded to the appropriate visa-issuing post where your visa interview will take place."

So I am not entirely clear on my timeline (when my actual NOA2 was, when it was shipped, or when it was received by the NVC) but we are full steam ahead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Robert, your NOA2 is the date on the notice. ;) Your petition may very well already be at the Embassy. Call NVC and find out your new case number and ask if it's been shipped out. If so, you can track it with DHL. I've posted about it several times in the last couple of days so just check out our april vsc thread, or pm me, to find out how if you dont know. ;)

congratulations. It's a whole new adventure now!!!

I'm confused, because this notice is from the NVC, not USCIS. I have not received anything from USCIS, no email, no mail, our case status has not been updated since 08/06/08, though we did get "touched" 08/21/08.

This is a letter saying that our case will be transfered to the embassy in the next week (the letter was dated 08/18/08). It also gives me the case number (CRSxxxxxxxxxx). I called them after I got the letter because they misspelled my last name, and the woman said it was too late to change and they would have to catch that at the embassy.
