interview in a week...

hey guys! my fiance is going to have his interview at Frankfurt Consulate in about a week. I am getting nervous and starting to over-analyze things. I shouldn't be... he has all his documents and evidence ready to go and his medical went fine. The only thing that I want to make 100% sure of is that he had lived in Dresden, Germany for two years, he called there twice and they told him that they would not give him his police certificate because he can only get it from the city he is registered living in(which he has). He called the embassy and they told him that this is normal in Germany and that it would be fine at the interview. Me being from Jersey originally I have a tendency to not trust anyone and be very paranoid about things so I would love it if anyone who has gone through Frankfurt could verify this. I should just believe them but I would hate for him to go to his interview and the officer can't approve him right away because the operator didn't know what they were talking about! Thanks for helping a very nervous, paranoid american!!! Any advice would be appreciated!!

does he have his German police record? He will definitely need it. You don't get one for different cities, only for the country, if that's what you are asking.

If he doesn't have his police record yet, however, he will not be rejeted in Frankfurt, they will give him a green paper saying what is missing and he has to give it to them as soon as he gets it.

I didn't get if he has it from your post or not so I'll tell you how to get it:

Go to the city (Standesamt) where you live and tell them you need a "polizeiliches Führungszeugnis", they have you sign a paper and send it in. After about 10 you'll get your certificate.

He does have his police record already. he has actually had since March 8. He said there is no experation date on it so we are assuming it will be fine. i just wanted to be sure that he only needed the one. thank you for your help!

always curious why people wait until the last minute to address these issues.

hopefully you'll get lucky and he won't need his Führungszeugnis, but now only time will tell!

He DOES have it!! sorry if I didn't make that clear, He certainly didn't wait til the last minute. i just needed to make sure it was the only one he needed.
