Hello mich08.

I am going to have a medical exam on the 14th of this month. I called the hospital and talked to them about vaccinations. They told me that though the list has a long list of vaccinations required, it all depends how old we are.

I am 24 years old and she told me that I only need to have the following four vaccinations.

1 Mumps

2 Measles

3 Rubela

4.Varicella

If you have a record that you have taken those vaccinations, then there is no need for you to take another one.

I am not sure whether this applies to you...

I suggest you to call the hospital you are going to see a doctor and talk to them about it.

I think they can help you out.

Good Luck

Nao

Hi mich,

Most vaccinations are standard for Argentina and are included in the requiered vaccination calendar. The exceptions are Tetanus and Hepatitis. Now the trick about Argentina is that when you're 5-6 years old and you are getting all those shots, they are noted in a little vaccination record book. What happened to me and other people is that as the years go by you loose track of that little book, and you think you'll never need it again...

If this happened to your SO, There are some vaccinations that his doctor can request an antibody count, but then there's others he would just have to get again. Either way, I would recommend that you plan ahead. Vaccination proof is requiered for Argentina's medical unless there is a medical reason involved.

Good luck!

Saludos,

Caro

My wife just had hers taken care of in Buenos Aires. She went to the government doctor, he took care of everything. And they were free. There were a couple that she had to go to a private doctor for. She also did not have her vaccination records. It was all pretty simple.

And as far as the police certificate, it does not take months. My wife got hers the next day!!! Or you can pay more for receiving them the same day, I think she said it was 50 pesos for the same day.
