Hello,

My interview is coming up, early August.

I had a misdemeanor case ( Falsification ) back in March 2002., did not get arrested or anything, just went to court and paid fine.

The record was expunged about a year after, however as USCIS's rule wants it brought up in the appliction along wih the chraging justice papers.

To sum it up , I was wondering how much the IO will be focusing on it, since it happened over 6 yrs ago and was expunged.

The case backgroun: Was summoned by Local DMV to show proof of car insurance before a date, or licence will be suspended.

However my proof of isurance did not cover the date of my traffic stop, so changed the date on my ins. card and showed to DMV, and was caucght and charged.

Please let me know how important you think this will be in my interview.

Thanks

No matter how small the 'issue' declare evrything and take all the paperwork with you. From the charge sheet / fine paid receipt and the expunged documents. It's all relevant.

That way nothing comes back to haunt you ever. What you want to avoid is in years to come that someone says you got your naturalization due to false information and they

strip you of your citizenship. This might sound as extreme action and there are those that will say this is far to extreme but there are no guarantee's - so play safe. Declare it all.

I do not think that the IO will focus a lot of attention but they will ask for copies of whatever docs you have for the file.

As the saying goes . . THE BEST LIE IS THE TRUTH - THAT WAY IT DOES NOT COME BACK TO HAUNT YOU!

Good luck.
