processing times on USCIS website

Hi everyone

the processing times on the uscis website for I-485 shows they are working on cases from Dec 2007! Is this an accurate representation of how long it takes?

well according to people on here...no! some people get the green card right after they get the EAD, whereas some others (myself included!) have to wait a little longer.

Im guessing the date of Dec 07 is because they have a really complicated case from back then that is still sitting around on someone's desk to be worked on.

Im not sure what the VJ average is for time to get Green Card from filing I485, anyone know?

My lawyer described it to me as the worst case assuming your case has not been lost. It is the oldest known case still pending. Of course INS loses lots of cases so if yours is one of them you won't know until much later.

For our case, it was fairly accurate. Our district office is Washington, DC (Fairfax). The USCIS website stated that according to our filing date, it would tak 12 months. Our journey took 11 months or so. So, it's off by a month. That's just our experience. Keep in mind, we had no RFEs. If one happens to get one, you can surely bet it will take a bit longer.
