Hello Good luck on ur medical exam soon!!!

Nothing to worry, i dont have any too during my medical exam. They will ask you some scars of ur vaccination before and for the chicken pox. And they will say to you what are the vaccines that they are going to give...I guess that is base on the age too...

Hope this will help you!!!

God bless!!!!!!

I am not from the phillipines but I would think that if you cannot provide a vaccination record that you will need to have the vaccinations again. Maybe someone else can reply better than me.

Hello there,

No need to worry. It's not a requirement to provide them your childhood vaccination. Whether you have it or not, You will be okay.

Please note that the original poster is an IR1/CR1 visa applicant and not a K Visa applicant.

You may want to get a titre test to prove immunity for vaccinations you have already received, so you do not have to repeat them. Some good information can be found here.

Some countries may vary, you should contact your panel physician and inquire as to what you need and whether or not they will accept an antibody titre test.

Why do I need these vaccinations if they are not required in my home country?

Immunization requirements may differ from location to location. That being the case, your doctor may tell you that the vaccine(s) are not required for health reasons in your current place of residence. However, unless there is a valid medical reason known as (contraindication) as to why you cannot have the vaccine or you can prove to the Consular Official who processes your application that vaccination would be contrary to your religious beliefs or moral convictions, it is necessary for you to be in compliance with the vaccination requirements.

How do I bring written proof of my immunizations?

You must provide the panel physician with a written record of your vaccine history. Ideally the written proof should list each dose of each vaccine you have been given -- the date (month, day, year) and who gave you the vaccine. You cannot simply tell the panel physician that you had vaccinations as a child. We cannot accept notes from your doctor like: "Vaccinations up to date" or "Does not require additional vaccines."

When no written vaccination history is available, you may present the Panel Physician with written laboratory proof of immunity in the form of antibody titers. A titer report should be dated and either be on your doctor's letterhead or be a copy of the actual laboratory report. Your personal physician can arrange the necessary blood tests. However, depending upon where you live, test results may not be available for a number of weeks. When no written vaccination history is available, but you can recall receiving immunization injections, we strongly recommend you discussing having antibody titres to determine whether additional immunizations are medically necessary

I'm not trying to be rude or to claim that I know everything there is to know about the IR1/CR1 visa process in the Philipines - I certainly don't.

I do think it is dangerous to state as fact something (in this case vaccination requirements for an IR1/CR1 visa applicant) and provide NO first hand experience and no official information (via links).

I was just hoping to give mrs hooks some additional information so that she can at least use that information to help her make an informed decision as to whether or not she should get a titre test before attending.

For certain I wouldn't want to be the one that says nothing, or tells her to just not worry about it and she is on here posting a few weeks from now stating she had to get several shots that she didn't need and had to pay for, or that her visa was held up as she did not produce the right documentation.

dbears you are welcome!

Don't worry too much about the immunization record. If a person can't remember if he/she received a certain vaccine, the vaccine schedule will be analysed according to age. Just be ready to show the examiner any BCG scars (the vaccine scar near the shoulder) and pock marks (chicekn pox scars).

You'll do great! :)
